The stay on like they are glued on
Recently I started using a bunch of sanding discs to sand the paint or stain off my large deck. The discs I purchased at a good price started falling or spinning off after just a few minutes. I have three of the Makita palm sanders, all the same model and I tried them on all three sanders. One was brand new. I ordered in new sanding pads for the sanders and again the same problem. This had never happened before while using off brands. I had a few of the Makita discs left and tried them and the problem disappeared. I ordered these Makita sanding discs and the problem doesn't exist now. These discs stick to a Makita sanding pad like they are glued on and come off about like they were glued on. I will only buy the Makita discs from now on. The others might work on other sanders better.

Works as it should
Doesn't get used up immediately. Sanded the entire hood of my car with just one pad of each grit I had.

The best I've used
Having been highly rated by WOOD magazine, I purchased these some years ago and now they're the only brand I'd recommend. The edges are cleanly cut, they cut material quick, don't load up quickly and seem to last longer in use. Try and store them in a dry room or cabinet and they'll keep like new in the box for years.

Finally quality made 40 grit hook and loop sand paper discs.
I've looked around via brick and mortar businesses and even other online venues, but I couldn't find any and the 40 grit sand paper I would eventually buy ended up becoming useless as the backing was not built strong enough. Then I found this Makita brand hook and loop 40 grit sand disc. Not only is this sanding disc made in Italy, but the backing made out of quality fiber and the grit is naturally very coarse and built into the disc. I do quite a bit of sanding and there are times when I dealing with very rough surfaces and 40 grit sand paper is just perfect for that. I have heard that Makita's products have shifted in quality in years past, but there seems to be a select few items that are still quality built but also not that expensive as well. While I may not sand in a industrial setting, but in terms of 40 grit sand paper discs (with hook and loop systems) this Makita brand is one of the best in the market.

The correct discs make all the difference !!!
The store where I bought my Makita sander sold me the generic discs. They flew off after about a minute if I was lucky. The Makita discs stay on the sander until you take them off. The difference is night and day. I almost returned the sander thinking that all discs were pretty much the same. The Makita orbital sander works like a charm with the correct discs on it now. Nobody around me sells the Makita discs, but I just order them from Amazon and they're here quick ! Thank you Amazon !!!

Work great if they are not shipped in the wet weather
These work great if dry, but DO NOT order them if rain is in the forecast. The envelope they came in was soaking wet and it ruins the glue that holds them together.

Makita Sanding Disks durable
This cost 2x as much as some products sold in the box stores however my experience with the box store products at 1/2 cost is that they dont stand up as long and you are changing out the sanding paper more often.

Belongs at the dollar store.
Miserably useless.. After sanding a few boards, I noticed that all of the abrasive grit had brushed off.. Makita sanders and sandpaper should be avoided. They're just not good, at all..

Paper thin
The sanding paper is very thin comparing to all other brands I have used. I think it makes the sanding not as effective.
