Doesn’t smell like coffee.. but it’s nice

It’s the winter months and a nice candle can really help create a warm, soothing vibe in the home. We like vanilla, coffee and “warm” sweeter scents for the evenings to help us wind down. The sweet espresso sounded perfect! I’m a coffee addict, and hand grind my beans every morning / every time I make a cup, so my nose and idea of what coffee should smell like is VERY particular.. However, coffee is not - in our opinion - the dominant smell with this candle. Without telling her what it was and simply lighting it, her first guess upon entering the room was coconut. And I agree there’s a strong coconut-ee vibe to this candle. I DO get hints of sweet vanilla and a little bit of coffee but I feel like I’m trying too hard to smell it; other scents / notes from this candle are far stronger. My own thoughts are that there’s a dominant floral scent, and “honeysuckle” comes to mind but I’m not 100% sure that’s the right flower. It’s not unpleasant, we do like it, but as a “sweet espresso” scented candle I find it a little disappointing. As far as the strength of the candle, it does a good job filling our modestly sized rooms with a pleasant aroma. Value-wise.. if this actually smelled like a delicious coffee, I’d probably be giving it 5 stars and justifying the cost but.. It doesn’t smell like coffee to me and at this price you should get what you expect. So I’m knocking a star off for the misleading name / description.

This candle smells so nice without being overwhelming. I love the smell of coffee but I'm not huge on food smells... This candle provides the perfect aroma. I was very happy with it. It would make a wonderful house warming gift!

Great scent, nice looks, and soy! Burns pretty fast though, it seems...

This seems to be an overall solid choice for a candle. The scent is great - not too strong but definitely strong enough to smell while in the vicinity of the candle. It's a lovely scent, too - especially for coffee fans, but even those who aren't will still enjoy it. It also looks nice/class/modern, which makes it pretty giftable. Size is a teeny tiny bit small for the price, IMHO, but I know soy candles (and candles in general) are not cheap, so it's not a bad value. One thing I'll mention: we happened to be burning this in the same room as another Main & Mesa candle (a larger black-wax candle), and this one seems to burn at a much faster rate than the black-wax one! So, I do recommend this candle but also keep an eye on some of their other offerings... might last longer!

This is a nice small-ish candle. I don't love the smell.

I gave four stars because I find the smell a little but nauseating. Maybe some people love it, but it just smells kind of gross to me. I love the smell of coffee but the sweet espresso smell does not go over well with my nose. The plus side is that if you do like it, it is a pretty strong smell. Overall okay candle and perhaps the smell is just my own personal taste.

Highly scented candle

This little candle has a big throw! It smells heavenly, like being inside a busy coffee shop. It can easily fill a medium sized living room. It would make a great house warming gift!

Smells incredible~!

As much as I love the thought of an espresso candle, the actual scent is way better than I imagined. This candle smells like a cappuccino, which I drank as a child, so the scent is very soothing for me. I love the fact that it uses soy wax, which melts a lot cooler than beeswax so if the candle get's spilled, it won't hurt anyone. Also, soy wax is really good for the skin! I just dip my finger in the melted wax and rub it all over my hands. But the mouth watering smell is why I keep relighting it. I love it!

Warm scent...

I really like that this is soy wax. It seems a lot healthier than breathing in the residue from regular candle wax. The smell is wonderful. It is a warm, coconut-vanilla, cappuccino like scent. I wouldn't say it is espresso shop but it smells very good anyway. Seems to have decent burning time over the past month we have been using it.

A small candle with a pleasant scent

I think they should change the name of this candle from Sweet Espresso to Sweet Cappuccino, because that is what it smells like to me. But still a very pleasant aroma when burning the candle. The candle itself is much smaller than I expected, but supposedly it has a burn time of up to 32 hours. I will see if it really lasts that long. I like to burn this candle at the dining table when eating dinner. The aroma really puts you in the mood to enjoy a nice meal.

Great Smelling Candle, Just Wish It Was Bigger

I love this candle! It smells like a cafe, and really motivates me to get my studying done. My only complaint is that I wish it was bigger ????
