Good for older kids and adults- not younger kids
I like it, but the smallest amount of time you can set it for is 5 minutes. Really 10 minutes if you want to use the yellow light warning feature which would go off after 5 minutes. For children, especially younger children, I’d recommend something that can be set for smaller time intervals like 1 minute, 2 minutes, etc.

*its not cheap quality and not complicated to use*
First, Its simple to use imo - it has two circular bands which you can twist to set timer, the upper band is for the total time of tracking say, T (e.g 20 minutes), and lower band is the time remaining when you want the warning alarm/siren to start sound, say e.g you set the lower band to 5 minutes. So you will get a warning sounds (like a quick horn) at, T - 5 = 15 minutes later. That isn’t so hard , is it ? After T = 20 minutes you get another sounds/siren to indicate time off. It starts to blink with yellow light after warning time, i.e at T = 15 minutes in this example. The light is green when you set the alarm, and its red before you start the timer ( just turned on mode but not in use). You can adjust the sound volume. Also want to mentioned it takes 3 small batteries ( AAA I think, just confirm) My use case - Its not only for kids, I am an adult and I am using it everyday, I will mention my example how it is helping break one of my bad habits. So I used to spend a lot of time in restroom in morning, mostly browsing quora, Facebook and other news apps while doing big job and then pondering what I read during shower, wasting almost an hour and eventually missing my trains and not be in office at time I wanted to be. I deleted bunch of apps like Facebook which helped for a while but eventually I found something else to waste time. I carried phone with me as an excuse to be aware of time, check my schedule for the day etc. I tried using phone timers, alarms etc none of which actually worked because none had a way to warm me. So solution really was to not carry my phone with me but still get my time tracked and something with a warning so I can be time bound and rush up when warning sounds. I looked for a solution and luckily I found this. Now I don’t take my phone with me, just this mini tracker, set it to 20 mins with a 10 minutes warning and to my surprise I am all ready before 20 mins most of the times lately and able to shut it off before the final warning kicks in (after 20 minutes). The only concern some might have is this that the minimum unit of time is 5 minutes and you can't be more granular than that. This company has some more digital time tracker products which you can set at minutes/seconds level but I really wanted something very simple to not distract myself and it really fits my use case. As some of reviewers mentioned it to be a cheap quality, its actually not for the price. Overall I am very happy with this product and will highly recommend it. I have just started to use it so will update how it turns out in long run in terms of product lifecycle.

Effective but confusing
We purchased the Mini due to other reviewers commenting on how confusing the larger one was to program. We wanted the timer for our son for this morning school routine (dressing, eating, etc). Now let me say that I am an engineer and reasonably good at problem solving. However, this timer, which has only a green and yellow adjuster really perplexed me for about a week. I eventually sat down with a stop watch to figure this thing out because it does not come with directions. For all of the other parents out there, here is how it works. The green band sets your total time. If you only want 5 min then the timer will go from green directly to red after 5 min no yellow. For 15 min, the green band is on 15, etc. That's not so bad, I would have thought that the green band set the time of the green light but nope, green band is the total time. The yellow band sets the duration of the green light. So illogical, but if you want 10 min of green and 5 min of yellow you have to set the green band to 15 and the yellow one to 10. Rather than the yellow band setting the duration of the yellow light, you have to do the math and subtract the green band which is really the total time from the yellow band which is really the green light to get the yellow time. Confused? Yep, we were too. I hope this helps lessen the confusion, it really is a great tool and works wonders, but is so frustratingly illogical to use. I'm happy to have it but wish it were more intuitive.

Wonderful for adults!
I think of this timer as one of my "best friends," along with my Fitbit and my phone. I have two, one for home and one for work. It's great for adults who need a sense of control but also may have mild ADD or simply a brain that notices everything and is interested in everything. I bought my first one to prevent myself from being late for meetings at work. Just because I remember at 9:45 that I have a 10:00 meeting doesn't mean I still remember this at 9:55 (I could have started reading an article and I no longer know I need to go to a meeting.) I use it to time everything: how long I meditate, how long I jog, how much time I can "permit" myself to look at Instagram, how much of a film I can watch before I have to start doing a chore. If I am using the kitchen timer for one food prep item that needs to be timed, I can use this for another food item that also needs to be timed. If I can't find my flashlight I use this as a substitute. I have even used it as a light in a tent. I have had mine for 5 years and neither has broken. Batteries last so long that I forget it even runs on batteries. When the batteries run lower it still works -- it's just that the green light becomes faint.

Amazing timer
Love this little timer. I use it to get my kids motivated to do their chores before the light goes red and also use it for time outs. It is really handy. Also works good in the classroom.

Good quality timer for children
Good quality timer. Is helping my 5 year old to get dressed currently. Shortest time is 5 minutes which is a shame as for younger children they need shorter times it's they forget what they were supposed to be doing!

Excellent: Useful for Doctors & Lawyers too
Wonderful. Useful for doctors & Lawyers also who measure conferences and charge accordingly. It gives signal to client/patients that time is up.

Buggy and unreliable
Button often gets stuck and the timer won't work. Sometimes it just won't work at all. Other times it is perfect for several days. If the battery is low the light will just constantly flash. I've had this maybe 4 months and the batteries have needed to be changed 3 times.

Works well
This is quite expensive for what it is but it does the job well and is really useful for helping my children know when it's time to leave for school!
