Coding toy
Good gift for my granddaughter

My kids really like this easy to use coding toy
The Coding Creature is coding toy similar to the Botley, but smaller, simpler, and a lot cuter. All the controls are on the cat-like creature itself. There is no remote control device. When first turned on, the creature starts in “coding mode”, where you can tap the direction buttons on its back to program a sequence of movements and then watch it go. The creature also has a “play” mode, where each button immediately triggers a pre-programmed response. Responses include a musical “dance” routine and a happy coos as if responding to being fed or petted. In addition to the creature itself, the box includes a simple arch structure and decorative set pieces that children can use to create an obstacle course for the creature to navigate using their programs. There are also cards that can be used to lay out a program visually before tapping it into the control buttons. Overall, the creature is an interesting variant of the Botley. It’s wheels are very small, which limits its ability to move across carpet. Its simplicity and cuteness makes it more approachable for small children, and lacking a remote is not really a negative. Remotes consume a lot of battery power, and small children would rather chase the creature around the room than watch it from a distance.

Fun Toy
I got this for my 5-year-old and so far he has enjoyed it. The set is bigger than I expected and my son was very excited about the magnetic pieces to make the cats play with their toys. We didn't have any batteries initially but he said it was a lot of fun even without those. I like that it has both a coding and play mode. The coding can get frustrating as you are learning how far one press goes or how far it turns and sometimes the alignment can get off so it doesn't go quite where you want it. For this reason, my son seems to prefer the play mode or just to use the coding to be silly and not to do the challenges in the book. Overall, he seems to enjoy it and will play with it for about 30 minutes at a time.

Interesting and educative.
Purchased it as a gift for a friend's preschooler daughter. Their daughter loved it and enjoyed playing with it. It's a good learning game and intresting for introduction to coding in early life stages.

very cute
these are really cute and they say they do what they do but they don't travel long distances in the video that they show you and it was kind of a lot to intake for a 3/4 year old to use

Great option for young coders!
My children, ages 3 to 8, all enjoyed coding the critter. It comes with a storybook, accessories, a variety of challenges, and the option to put the critter in play mode. The challenges were just right for my 3 and 5 year old. They were able to be successful without major frustration. The play mode option gives this toy some versatility and my kids have toggled between caring for their critter and coding with it. For beginning coders I highly recommend this product.

My 6- and 8-year-olds love it
This was the hit of Christmas--we're going to have to buy another one because they both want to play with it constantly. I was leery with the "4+" age recommendation, but my 6- and 8-year-olds love it. They started with the storybook, and have now moved on it making up their own stories. It's pretty cute and there's more to it than I expected.

Kids like it
Kids liked this when they Received it, but quickly lose interest, cause the first one we received Somehow does not work properly after 10mins of using it. We got a new one now but has to be very careful, so they loose interest. I don't let them Play on carpet or randomly press the button, in case it Stop working again.

Awesome and interesting toy
This was for our 4 year olds birthday and she loves cats so we knew this would be a hit! It is super easy to program and use. Imogen soon understood how to make it move. It has a simple mode of just pressing the arrow buttons (forward, left, right and backwards). It is a little hard to visualize the distance traveled with the forward and back movements but with a little practice you soon get the hang of making the cat move where you want to. It is a fun a novel toy! It seems well made. The small kitty is cute too and has a magnet which triggers a meow noise which adds to the toy's appeal. Some of the extras are just props to use to navigate around. Outside of the programming mode there is a cute dance mode where the cat moves with music it plays, a sleeping mode, a sentry mode and feeding modes. These are just pre-programmed modes where the cat moves or makes sounds with the press of the buttons. To be fair that is all this toy will do so be mindful of the price. We got this at a really good deal. As for replay value, this will depend if your child likes the programming side of things or whether this will just be something to pick up occasionally to play with just for the sounds. Overall for us, a thumbs up considering the price we paid.

Great set
My daughter loves this set. The large cat has arrows on top which enable you to programme it manually. It also has lots of cute accessories which you can make the cat explore via programming their location in.
