Works through spa cover

I'm using this in a swim spa with a very thick and heavy cover. The device seems to work fine through that cover. However, the readings do some strange and unrealistic spikes. This tub is set for 80 degrees. It takes hours for a tub this size to change much, but the graph shows these momentary spikes to nearly 100 degrees. It's not the jets causing it as in most swimspa's, including this one, the jets are all at one end and they'd push this device to the other end immediately. Just a glitch I guess.

So far so good!

Used this to replace another brand of pool therometer thats been spotty at best. So far this one works well with my existing La Crosse weather system here at home.

First one wore out

Second one I purchased. First one lasted one summer. Display got water inside it. But I buy again because I love knowing water temp from inside the house

Accurate Pool Thermometer

Great thermometer for accuracy, but it takes a while to come to the temperature. Seems solid and well made.

The waterproofing probably could have been a little better.

Be very cautious when using this product. In theory the product works great. Allowing you to see the temperature of your pool from your phone or on your La Crosse base station. I had a bad feeling about the device after seeing the battery compartment was at the bottom of the device where it will be completely submerged in water. Batteries seemed to last for about 6 month before needing to be changed. I would say it worked for about 8 months before what I can only assume is water got into the battery compartment and completely fried the unit. If at all possible I would have tried to put the waterproofing part toward the top where it wouldn't have been completely submerged in water, but I'm not an engineer so I'm not sure if it would have been possible.

Disappointing- worked great for several weeks, then took in water

Very disappointing, worked for weeks then took on water and stopped working. I brought it inside for several days to 'dry out' and it started displaying and transmitting again, but the condensation returned shortly after I put it back outside.

Now I get alerts for my hot tub

I have an older hot tub and this allows me to monitor the temperature. If the kids turn the temp to max and leave it, I know it. If the heater breaks I will know in time to do something. I have notices sent to my phone if the temp goes out of range.

Accurate and Reliable

My wife thought this was an unnecessary toy at first, but quickly realized that being able to view the pool temp from inside is actually pretty cool. Being able to see the pool temp on our La Crosse weather station in the morning helps us decide whether to fire up the heater without actually going outside to check the temp. As others have mentioned, the display gets cloudy with condensation making it hard to read. The moisture does not seem to affect the performance of the sensor.
