Why aren't all knife racks like this?

This is a perfect holder for my expensive knives. Don't have to worry about exactly fitting a blade and I can get all of my Kyocera knives in here. The foam slots make so much sense.

Minimalist option for proper knife storage

I had been avoiding using my ceramic knives because I didn’t have a knife block for them. This was the last hurdle to resolve. Vertical design takes up minimum space on the counter. Box says 6 knives, but I could add more with creative handle offset. Long enough for a bread knife, still secure for a pairing knife.

Not easy to clean

It does a good job of protecting my ceramic knives. Drain hole at bottom is important for cleaning.

Does what it's meant to do

It's sturdy cylindrical knife holder. Pretty easy to take apart to clean. Your knives will be held between plastic, basically squeezing the blade. It holds more knives than it seems. However your knives will be held up right or vertical, in case you don't like that. It looks nice and does what it's meant to do, but the price is a bit high in my opinion. Although most of the current ceramic knives it is holding are not Kyocera, it hold other types of knives just fine, be it ceramic or steel.

Great knive block

Before I purchased this knife block, I had always used wooden knife blocks. This one by Kyocera is way easier to clean than the wooden ones. As the knives are stored vertically, it takes up less space in the kitchen. The base is sturdy enough that it does not tip easily. I do wish the block is a bit taller, so knives that are longer than 8.5" could be stored without part of the blade exposed. If Kyocera would make a taller one, I would not hesitate to buy one for my long carving knives. That said, I am very happy with this purchase.
