My install experience, metal door

After installing a keyless deadbolt I decided to replace the entry set as well. This unit in black was a good match. After removing the old entry knob and lock set, I followed the printed instructions included with the new Entry set. I did not replace the strike as it was in good position and very good condition. After trying a test fit, I noticed the exterior side of the assembly would not sit flat to the door. Then I saw two metal nubs on either side of the collar. See picture. These would ordinarily seat themselves in a wooden door upon securing both sides of the entry set. Most likely they serve to keep the assembly from shifting during use. So I found it necessary to dimple the steel door with a drill where these nubs would ordinarily seat. See picture. Otherwise the install went without any other complications. Good quality set that will serve my purpose.

Handle is not level

This is a nice handle and it was easy to install. However, the handle on the outside did not flush level where it meets the door. It might be a little crooked, so we might have to silicone around it maybe.

Excellent Door handles

Bought several Kwikset door handles to upgrade my home. They are solidly built and are a major improvement from what I had, quite robust and the styling/design is perfect. I suggest you only buy the non-microban versions if you are worried about forever chemicals in your home. The newest versions seem to all have the microban. Bummer. Otherwise, I'd buy more if I had more doors.

Simple and chic!

Chic looking door knob. I really wanted to replace all of my doors in my new home but I decided first to see how I felt if I just changed the knobs to something more modern. I’m so happy with the simple upgrade and plan to purchase more for the remaining doors. Also installing is super easy. Didn’t even read the instructions.

Replaces 25yr old Kwikset knob

Needed to replace a broken 25yr old Kwikset privacy knob. This Casey privacy lever did the job, no issues with fit. Took less than 10m to take the old out and put the new in. Twist lock is clunky and isn't silent unlike the one on the old knob that was smooth and quieter but other than that, all works and the set looks great.

Falta un tornillo (set screw)

Falta el tornillo (set screw) para una de las dos palancas. Resulta que la chapa es inútil sin esta pieza. Queda instalada pero, sino que logre encontrar otro set screw, voy a tener que comprar otro equipo.
