Nice looking and easy install

I've been using a sc#l~ge for the past 15 years. I have had to update the same handle twice because they would just not last. This is NOT our main access door, so I was surprised that the other 2 wore out. When I was looking at this set, it had a lot of good reviews and the inside mechanism looked better built then the other brand. When It arrived, it was a super easy install and everything was nice and tight. I just hope this lasts longer then the other name brand. I would 100% buy this again. I would definitely recommend this if your in the market for a master door handle. Just keep in mind, this DOES NOT come with a lock or deadbolt.

Quality door handle and easy to swap

I was replacing a door handle I installed about 10 years ago and this just slid right into place! We bought a new electric lock and the old handle just didn't match well so we ended up moving it to our back door and sliding this one in it's place. The fit and finish is great and the interior components seem more robust than our previous handle from the same manufacturer. It was really quick to swap out and it feels really good in your hand.

Drill hole sizing in the instructions needs correcting

I use this in combination with a Lockly smart lock. I liked the aesthetic, and that it had two different levers for the inside, depending if you have a left handed or right handed door. When installing this handle, there are some things incorrect in the instruction sheet: - The hole marking template is a bit misleading. The hole for the bottom screw can be drilled anywhere between the top-most position to the bottom-most position, it does not need to be one of the three marks. - The drill hole size for the bottom screw is marked as 7/16" on the instruction sheet. This is wrong, and should read 7/32" to drill all the way through the door (for the screw), and 1/4" for the outside hole on the door (for the screw socket). I also found that the hole on the inside handle was predrilled too small. I kept on dropping the retaining screw because it wasn't going in properly. I wound up enlarging the hole to 3/16", but ended up losing the retaining screw. After contacting Kwikset support, they are shipping me a replacement, but it will take 4-6 weeks. In the meantime, I got a #10-32 machine screw from the local hardware store to hold it temporarily. Otherwise, I'm happy with this door handle.

Easy install, time will tell regarding durability.

Install was pretty easy. Purchased to replace an older latch whose actual latch mechanism had broken - we didn't like the color, and had a little extra cash to order this. Feels quite solid and hefty, and has a nice finish. The latch action is smooth. Time will tell regarding durability, but with a lifetime warranty, I'm pretty happy so far.

Design Flexibility Eases Installation

The Kwikset 98150-001 was surprisingly easy to install. Our 3 year-old Copper Creek door latch suddenly broke. A small metal tab sheared off and that was the end of it. We ordered this Kwikset as a replacement. When it arrived I was pleased to see that it is designed so the bottom screw is variable by perhaps half inch. This takes out concerns about inexact holes from previous models. Also be aware it comes with two handles (right and left). The handle slips over the latch assembly and is secured by a set screw that is already in the assembly. You insert the provided hex wrench and raise the screw from the assembly. You do not screw it down, you screw it up. This confused me at first. The installation took approximately fifteen minutes.
