My favorite from now on

This is by far the best choice for renters like me. I bought it to use with August 4th gen smart lock because main reason I rent so It is important to keep the original key and it has the option to rekey to keep the same key in ase the landlord have to go in. Btw it is very easy to rekey took less than a minute and one try and it is compatible with August Smart lock as August have it in their website as recommended and compatible the best combination of both worlds.

Rekeyed one of them to be keyed like the other one so one key opens both locks.

That also leaves me with and extra set of Original Kwikset keys so that I could use that set to rekey both of the lock later, if needed. They are really easy to rekey. Takes less that one minute. Search online for "how to rekey Kwikset Smart Key locks".

Kwikset Deadbolt Lock

Peasy easy!

I ordered this to replace very old one that’s broken for long time. I was worried if it won’t fit the thicker old style door. I went ahead and replace it with no problem! It could have not connect from back to front but it’s doable. Wheww it locks and unlocks with ease!

False advertising. Not as pictured.

As others have mentioned, the picture shows a smartkey lock, but the locks shipped do not have the smartkey feature.

Easy to install, good locks

Brought to replace old locks for new house, easy to install and well made.

Feels solid but rusted badly after a few months

This replaced a cheap bolt that broke after only a few weeks. This one is still going strong after 10 months, but the surface has corroded badly over winter. I have now used metal polish and protector to try to tidy it up, but the rust came back quickly - so not really suitable for exterior use.
