REAL mechanics should like this tool. It requires that mechanical skill that can't be taught!
I too was very reluctant to order one after reading the other reviews and have found that reviews are only as good as the mechanic using the product. Having a deadline and needing a roto split Prime overnight I reluctantly ordered this one and true to life I put the thing together handed it to my partner and he immediately broke the blade. I was on a large commercial project so fortunately I was able to take a blade from a used splitter and mine worked great all week long making hundreds of cuts and buddies were borrowing for a few cuts of their own. That helped me to realize why the blade will break when you first get it. When you use these you tend to get in the habit of gripping hard on the handle that pushes the cable against the blade. Now if the blade is brand new the super sharp teeth bite directly into the jacket and with the pressure of over squeezing it causes the blade to snap. Of course my partner thought that was a cheap blade seeing as he destroyed my tool but it needs to be super thin to work as its designed. Now when I went to round up another blade from another tool and having used several well worn copies of this exact same unit on large job site, I have come to the realization that a duller blade works the best! And if you are used to using one with a dull blade be aware when you get a new sharp blade installed, learn to go easy on the handle until it starts to get dull and you won't break the blade. So Bottom Line This is a good tool, it doesn't fall apart, it's preset to work right out of the package and it's well worth the very low cost. Remember, when it's new, gently lock the cable in but just enough so it doesn't slip, start cracking and then start applying hand pressure you will find that it works flawlessly. Someone complained about 15 cranks? As a product design engineer myself, it annoys me so much when someone will dog a fine little product over something like the exact number of turns it takes to make an annoying task so very easy. I would definitely recommend this to anyone with skill and brains.

Klein quality!
Works great for what it's designed for, stripping MC cable.

A great tool to simplify MC cable work
I'm wiring a metal building using MC cable (my first time using something other than Romex). I wasn't sure whether this "specialized" tool would be worth having but decided to give it a try. Wow - it makes working with MC really easy. Makes perfect cuts in the metal cladding every time and has never nicked a wire in the process. I'm really happy with this purchase and highly recommend it.

Cuts bx cable shielding
It on!y came with one cutter blade

Hex Portion of Axle is round
The instructions say to ensure the blade is fully seated on the hex portion of the axle. The hex portion of the axle is round on my Klein cutter, so the blade spins and the tool will not work. This condition was identified by Simon C. on February 19th, 2021 and this problem continues into 2022, so probably the whole shipment from China was incorrectly made.

Poorly made, not worth the money
I bought this because I had some armoured cable to cut but after using successfully once on a practice cut and then fighting with it for 30 minutes trying to get a second cut, I gave up and went back to bending and clipping the shield with cutters. Waste of money. Weak, flimsy, poorly aligned and doesn’t clamp cable firmly. And I think the blade was dulling after my 40 minutes of trial.

Not sure why you'd use this
I purchased it having the wrong idea of how it functioned in mind. Once I received it, I realized it only cuts the armoured cable in 1 spot, it doesn't feed it through to make long cuts. I'm not sure what the benifit is over paying attention to your work. Or using a hack saw to cut MC sheathing

Its a quality tool
For the last two weeks i have been used side cutter to strip BX. I finally got feed up and bout the proper tool to do the job. This tool is quality and work as its intended. So far i have run 80 meters of BX and not a problem. Only thing I would point out as a fault is blade cost, when you need to replace it. The cheapest price I could find was 19 Canadian. That is for one blade. For a blade that small I would think it should cost 10$ for 2 or 3 blades.
