Beware that the top of utensils are plastic and WILL melt

Many of my non-scratch utensils were plastic which melt if left in the pan at all, so I was looking to upgrade to something more heat resistant and durable. This 14 piece gadget set was a good chance to replace a lot of my kitchen utensils all in one go. This sitcom with a 4-piece dry measuring cup set, a 5-piece measuring spoons set, a can opener, a peeler, a spuatula a non-slotted spoon and a slotted turner. These are all non-scratch which is great. I quickly discovered something that wasn’t apparent from the listing: the top of the utensils are black plastic with the KitchenAid logo etched into it, while the bottom are silicone. So…. the whole thing isn’t heat resistant. If you have a big pot and leave the spoon (or any of the other utensils inside), the top will Mel when it touches the side of the pan. Ugh. I was very disappointed to see that. The other thing that I was a little disappointed about is that the measuring cups are kind of squat: not that wide but deeper. It makes it touch to store the largest cup sized one in my drawer - it’s just too tall, so I have to leave 1-cup measuring cup in my sugar canister all the time. That also was disappointing. I like that all of the utensils except the can opener can be placed in the dishwasher. Other than the problem with the measuring cup and the top of these being plastic, this is would be a great starter set for a bridal or house warming gift or a good sturdy replacement set if yours are getting worn out. This is a great value - just watch out for the melt factor.

Great Kitchen Tool

I’ve been using it for a couple months now and it’s been hold up well. It’s easy to clean. Extremely easy to grip. Works well.

Great for our kitchen

I was pleasantly surprised with this Kitchenaid set. I wanted new plastic kitchen tools to avoid stratching our new pots and pans and this set delivered just that.

A nice set of the basics for any kitchen.

KitchenAid's Tool and Gadget Set has a nice mixture of tools with an overall great build quality and feel. The can opener and peeler are the best made with a nice mixture of metal and plastic and a sturdy and robust feel. The spatulas and serving spoon are also well made and substantial. The measuring spoons and cups are the cheapest looking and feeling, but they work fine. Actually everything in the set works perfectly. I've found the peeler to be smooth and easy to hold. The can opener is effective. The turning spatula resists high heat and doesn't melt. The can opener is not dishwasher safe, but everything else came through the dishwasher perfectly. All in all... an excellent set.

Not sure if all of them are durable

Good starter set but some items are not durable. All spoons work fine on heat. All of them are plastic except for the silicone spatula. Peeler is very easy to use. But can opener rusted after two uses.

Markings hard to see

The KitchenAid gadget set is pretty useful. Everything in the set is very sturdy. If your cookware is mostly nonstick, you’ll need a quality plastic/nylon set of kitchen gadgets. The markings on the measuring cups were difficult to see, as it’s black on black, but with only 4 of them, it’s not too hard to figure out which is which. The 1tsp measuring spoon is too wide to fit into a standard spice jar, so I consider that a poor design. 4stars

The handles has a good grip feeling. While on the other end has a rougher texture. Safe to use on my expensive pans.
