Shipping and delivery on time

Vera tools sent me the lathe and arrived sharp on the forecasted date. The lathe arrived wheel protected, only minor crashes in the painting but it never mind. The material quality, operation and accuracy of the lathe JET 1015VS is very good. I only did few trial so far but during May I will move ahead with some turning bowls and let’s see.

Great mini lathe

I’ve turned a lot of items with this word life, the motor went out on me. I contacted the company they sent me a replacement right away. Since then I’ve moved up to the larger 16 inch lathe. I like the variable speed on both of them and then I can enter change my Chuck’s back-and-forth and work on multiple Wood Turning’s

Great Lathe!!!

Love this lathe! I have never owned a lathe before and this is the perfect beginner/intermediate lathe. It does everything that I have asked it to do and more. I have been using it for about 3 months now and I haven't had any issues with it at all. Good power for the size of the lathe and just a great set up in general. Turned anything from pens to goblets and lidded jars. Really like the variable speed option. For most of my stuff, I set the belt on the middle speed option and adjust the speed accordingly, using the dial. ONLY thing that I wish that this lathe had was reverse. When I am sanding, I can turn the lathe by hand in the opposite direction and I can feel where the wood isn't as smooth going in reverse. Overall, an absolutely amazing lathe. Definitely would buy again, but hopefully won't need to!

This is a perfect starting lathe.

This is the perfect starter lathe. The thing that makes this very nice is the variable speeds you can adjust on it. There is only 3 main adjustments with the belt on the lathe, than you fine tune in them ranges with the adjuster. That quality of life is great.

My husband loves this

My husband absolutely loves this lathe. He's brand new to woodturning, but his very first project (a turned seam ripper for me) turned out great. He loves doing this and now has a new hobby. This JET lathe is well built and works perfectly and will surely last many, many years without any mechanical problems.

Liking my new toy.

I just got this today so there is not a lot to say about it. The shipping was unbelievably fast. Got it out - looked it over. Liked it a lot. I especially like that the on/off and speed control is on the right side. Turned my first ever piece of apple and then a piece of elm that was dead wood on my property. I am going to like this hobby. Things that I don't care for but I think I can correct are that the tool stock lock handle will lock towards the piece. I would have preferred it being away from the spinning wood. I think that this can be changed - could not find my Allen wrench. Also, the tool stock bar is rather short. This may be great for pens but I will be looking for a longer rest.

Easy to set up and start using; heavyweight frame; no vibration; on the expensive side

The lathe was very easy to set up. I have only made a few pens so far, but it has gone well enough that I am encouraged to turn other things like bowls and vases. It was quite expensive, but I am happy with the quality and appreciate the variable speed feature that I am sure will have increased value when turning more complicated pieces.
