Worked well

These extractors worked where three other types of extractors did not. The short & stocky design made it able for me to hammer the extractor into the drill hole, thus making hold firmly and easy to remove the bolt. I was very pleased.

Worked when every other method failed!

Not much to really say here. I had a stripped out screw in a machine body. Its surroundings were aluminum and plastic internals keeping electrical contacts and connectors made flame or heat out of the question. Took a cobalt bit drilled the just a small center hole of the striped out Philips screw to maximize contact. Used a small ball peen hammer to tap the right size extractor and gave it one extra good hit to really secure it once it bottomed out. Took a socket wrench with correct size SAE socket and slowly began reversing while keeping my left hand pressing down on top of the socket head. After a good amount of effort I was treated with a loud POP and the screw safely backed out w/o incident. If I had to drill it out I would have risked the drill bit wandering into the softer surrounding aluminum and pretty much damage things beyond reasonable compare. I like this set better than the ones that have a 3/8” square hole placed into the bottom because these hold more rigid and do not break or chip from hammer impacts. I’ve seen those sets with the square hole shatter from an electric impact gun, which shouldn’t be surprising as Neither this set or others are impact rated. However I can say that this set when used with an impact have only ever had their tips shear off instead of the body shattering.

The threads are very shallow and therefore don't grip great when trying to extract

The threads are very shallow and therefore don't grip great when trying to extract. "Aggressive" for "extra gripping power" is quite a long stretch to what this is. I've found the pilot hole needs to be quite tight and tapping the extractor in with a hammer while turning is the only way to get it to work. I would really want deeper threads on the extractor. But for now they work.

Must have in your toolbox

This is a must have tool for any toolbox. I've tried other so called screw extraction kits but this one really works. It also allows you to use a breaker bar or impact screw driver. So many sizes in this kit there shouldn't be an application that doesn't suit. You should also have a drill to go along to make a starter hole.

Very strong and all the sizes you will need.

If you have the need for these then these are the ones to buy. Great price for a sturdy product. Been wrenching for 20 years and these are the best I have used so far. Throw in some left hand drill bits and your ready for road service.

they work good but they are real aggressive, they really bite in had to use a spacer on at few in order to get pipes to turn out
