Not the same quality as those made 20yrs ago

This was a replacement for a Hunter fan that was in use for over 20 years. I was surprised that the fan was not able to mount on the hardware from the existing Hunter fan. This fan is quiet and looks good, but I'm not a fan of the plastic lightbulb sockets. The fan it replaced had metal light sockets and I'm guessing I'll have to run LED bulbs in it instead of incandescent.

Easy to install and is very quiet.

Nice looking fan that I bought after a brand new cheaper brand fan didn't work right out of the box. Live and learn. Fan is very quiet. Very easy to install with plenty of room to install wiring unlike some fans. My only complaint is that it took a fair amount of time and weight to get it balanced. Had a fair amount of wobble to it without the blade weights installed.

Nice basic white fan

If you are looking for a simple, nice, basic white fan this may be the one. I bought it with the intention of using the light that came with it as you see in the photo, but after two weeks ended up removing light (installing a few recess lights on ceiling instead) and just using as a fan as a fan. Doing this made the room feel more open as I thought for the height of the ceilings and size of room the light was too bulky and big. Love this set up now! Fan is overall quiet. The pull cord on one of the fans I bought was a bit tricky to pull while the other was very easy... we adjusted a few times and works smoother now. We keep on lowest setting as the rooms are both 10 x 12 and that really all we need. Overall nice fan!

Like it, great price but not my best Hunter purchase.

I like it but don't love it and here's why. The low profile cover is really bulky and even though I thought I got the right size fan for the BR, it really seems too large for the room. Down rods, even short ones, always give a fan a more classic look so while I'm limited by the 8' ceilings, I still wish I'd had the electrician install it with a downrod. Also, the light fixture is not all that attractive. It has an institutional feel to it and I will probably replace it with one that is smaller and more interesting. I still love Hunter fans and probably will continue to prefer them to other brands, but I will make a trip to Home Depot and buy a fan and a separate light kit. I did have the electrician install it with the Hunter 99119 remote and the remote works as expected, but the CFL bulbs are not dimmable so will probably replace them sooner than later.

Looks great, moves air well at low speed

The only thing that keeps this from a 5 is that I can hear the motor. Not bad but I have several Harbor B_____ fans that are silent. Very good instructions and it installs easily without having to hold up anything heavy during installation.

Review Update

So As you can see I updated this fan to 5 stars. What I found out from the company, is when you use the remote for this fan, the pull chain Must be at the third speed level in order for the remote to access All speeds. Once this was done, the fan works great, it looks great and at this point I would recommend this fan.

Last for years

We have 4 Hunter fans in our house. They are all well over 30 years old and work perfectly . Very very quiet. Just bought this new one to change the style. The one it replaced was probably around 40 years old and still worked perfectly well.
