Really fun game to play with friends
Played this at a friends house and picked it up for myself instantly. It's a pretty easy game to learn, but there's enough depth to have tons of fun. The games typically aren't long either, they can run anywhere from 40mins to an hour if that. So you can run multiple rounds and no one really feels stuck playing. They can sit out a round if they really aren't feeling it anymore.

Game is a ton of fun, a staple and favorite of ours
So I picked this up randomly for my neice for Christmas, on a whim. Because she was constantly saying "slay" sarcastically as some sort of 'insult'(?). No idea. But I bought this game knowing nothing about it and thought she'd enjoy it just for the title alone. Little did we know this would turn into an absolute FAVORITE! It took about one round of playing to get hooked. It's easy to learn to play as there is a tutorial on youtube from developer on how to play. But it still took a round of play. Then we played several times that night. We've come up with our own set of rules and win conditions. We don't allow infinite number of heroes to be collected. We limit it to 6 with the expansions. This leads to easier knowledge of what each player has and what they need to win. We also added that you need a full party and at least one monster slain. If we want a little longer game we will play Full Party and 3 Monsters as the win condition. One thing that does kind of stink is there are full expansions and many additional Hereos/Party Leaders that were KickStarter Exclusive that you can't get anymore unless you pay a fortune on eBay. Wish they'd release these being that game is now a few years old to allow people to complete the game with the GamePlay elements intact.

Fun for everyone - Addictive - Near limitless fun!
Howdy All, I'm going to start off by saying buy the game. The base game AND the expansion are very much worth it. If you are sitting there debating it, don't. Literally get this game if it does interest you. I was the same way until I bought then played with with friends/family. It's is very fun once you do a few rounds with the rules. I'll give a few simple drop of Pros/Cons. Before I start I wanted to explain that even with the Cons the game is still very enjoyable. Pros: ==== - In-depth rules that explains ever in/out of the entire game +has little handy rules reference cards for each player to look to for shorthand explanations for their turn. - Simple but lovely designs for the different Classes/Animals/ Monsters. - Relatively short gameplay session ( 30-60 minutes ), could be longer if there are more people. - Playing with 2 players can work without much issue. - Children of all ages can play this, Played this with ages ranging from 3ys-60yrs. So yeah you can play this with literally anyone. - Gameplay is enjoyable as you have a lot of options for how you want to run your party + strategy to weaken/set back other plays while trying to win yourself. - Difficulty to reach via dice rolls ( +, - ) are reasonable, and do come with risk/reward. Cons: ===== - The Modifier cards can stack which can make the difficulty curve for rolls for Monsters/Challenge cards higher or lower depending on who it is targeted at. Not necessarily a too bad thing but it can get annoying real quick. - Challenge cards go hand, and hand with the above. Two players who are in a challenge roll then use their modifiers to boost or decrease the rolls is fine, but outside parties who were not apart of the initial challenge card can affect dice rolls as well as use their modifier which can be played at any time to effect rolls for other plays. This is more of a personal gripe which can be solved by using a house roll but can be annoying. - Limited characters/ Customization. I love this game, I wish to make this super duper clear, I love playing it whenever I get the chance. I do need to say that on the box + in the above product's description it does say you can customize your own party leader card from their website - this is true. I do wish they would let you design your own party cards as well other than the party leader as I think it could give more creativity to the game and make for some good counters etc. The art and current classes/animals are all super well designed, and balanced as most have a good counter. - There is not another expansion! Jokes aside, I do wish they could come out with another expansion as there are a lot of opportunities for classes/animals to use. - Lastly as I stated in the first bullet of the 'pros', the In-depth rules. Holding the rules next to me as I type this I recall the first time I laid eyes on this bad boy. It opens up to be a mini-poster of rules that while in-depth in detail about how to play, it can be a lot when you first open it up fully. There is a front/back that you need to read which is fine but as I said can be a lot. During my first 2-4 games of playing, you do need to look back towards the rules when debates over how a card is to be played or to check for trivial info until it sort of clicks. That being said most games will have you doing that so that isn't the biggest deal in my opinion. Playing with younger kids can be difficult due to the amount of rules but reciting it a few times, checking rules and you should be fine. I don't write many reviews but I felt I just had to gush about this game, a tad biased probably due to my enjoyment but I do truly love this game. Hope these help with your decision, and hope you try out this fun card game.

Quick and fun
Quick game to learn and very fun to play. Takes 5 mins to learn and 15-20 minutes to play.

Competitive
Very fun but also very competitive! I tend to prefer co-op games so the cut throat nature of this game is a bit much for me. But if you do like competitive games this game will keep you on the edge of your seat! The art is adorable as always!

Awesome game to play
This game is great for all ages to play. My nieces love the artwork and the game is easy to learn. The only down side is you will want all the expansions.

Superb for 2 players
We've found it to quick and easy so we've added a few of our tweaks to it. The rule is all 6 heroes and 3 monsters to be collected plus no more than 6 heroes in your party at any moment. Super fun and will keep you busy for some fun while.

One of the best card games going
Here to Slay is the last game we played on my monthly games night and so far it's been the most enjoyed one. The game advises that a round will typically last 45-60mins for a six player game however with a richly competitive group as ours our first rounded closer to 90 mins. Artwork on the cards is superb, the rules are simple and the goals are challenging yet immense fun, and so reasonably priced. An absolute must for your next game night.

Takes a little time to earn but it's worth it
This is a REALLY fun game, but you really have to do some brain gymnastics when you first start. I'd say it's good for 10 and up.
