Good gloves, but Gills are better!
I have a multitude of different gloves that I use for Technical Rescue (rope, water, confined space, etc.) and these perform pretty well. However, I've also had the Gill Deckhand gloves and they were even better! Maybe not quite as durable as the HH, but definitely better performing when wet and when gripping rope.

Sail Glove (long) = Fingers are short, stubby despite trying large and XL sizes.
The large gloves had stubby fingers... The X-Large gloves had the same stubby fingers... These gloves are sized inappropriately.

No Grip
Overall, I love Helly Hansen products, I have their women's off shore foul weather gear, both bibs and jacket as well as three of their other jackets. All are fabulous. I got these gloves for sailing on San Francisco bay, for line handling where grip is of the utmost importance in the extreme conditions here. I have been very disappointed in them, they claim superior grip, but I find very little grip at all. They have repeatedly let me down when raising a halyard on a J24 or J105 as well as sheeting in the jib after a tack in high winds. I was going to return them but the date for doing so has passed, so here I am making more garbage which the planet does not need. I highly recommend not buying them.

Fab gloves, but relatively small sizing
The gloves are great - really good. However I was buying them for a male friend and started off at Large because he says he doesn't have very big hands. These were too small so I returned them and got an XL. They were also too small so I finally had to return these too. I'm not sure if this was because the gloves are a close fitting size, but there wouldn't have been anywhere to go if the XXL hadn't fitted!

Good glove
I use them for Dinghy sailing and was looking to replace a pair of Gil gloves bought from our local chandlery that has sadly now closed. I've used these throughout this summer, they work well, are a quality glove. The advice to go a size up is spot on....I followed it and bought a large which fits snugly....my other gloves were a medium

A LITTLE BIT TIGHT
You will feel it’s a little bit tight in the beginning. With time it becomes more comfortable. For me, I think the annoying thing is that it’s made of a combination of different materials that doesn’t really make it efficient. The gray lookalike leather material, especially at the fingertips, is a bad idea if you’re dealing with ropes and sharp things on a boat. Seems that it’s not gonna last.

good quality and do the job- they do come in small so go 1 size up from normal.

Won't last long
Not very good quality, only 12 weeks use and already worn out and falling apart. Also shrink a lot from the original size making them very tight.
