super nice quality!

The media could not be loaded. these pants are REALLY great quality!! i am absolutely certain they’d perform flawlessly in inclement weather! they are no frills just well made & awesome - they’re pretty lightweight and will not make unruly rustling sounds with walking like some others will. all seams are well sealed. these will definitely last multiple seasons. i have been on a search for the best lightweight rain gear for hiking. as for helly hansen options, i found thru reading online, the moss line is slightly better than the dubliner line for my purpose. fit: i am 5,3” and normally wear a size 4/6, depending on the brand, w/ 27” inseam… so ankle cut usually. these pants were a little baggy & long in the leg (see pics, where i do have jogging shorts underneath) - great for wearing over leggings, for example. i’d say they fit like a 4/6 but without much room in the rear. they’d be perfect for boys or pre-curvy girls. they would definitely work with hiking boots. i really want to keep these, but i only need one pair and the columbia pair (also youth size) are equally great value/quality, can hike up higher at the waist + have 2 side pockets and 1 rear pocket. i’ve also looked at frog toggs & columbia raingear for comparison (see my other reviews) i look forward to another helly hansen purchase in the future!

Narrow leg opening hampers use!

I haven't tested these out in the rain or snow yet. They're made of a stretchy material, coated with rubber. They're a bit heavier than some of the rain pants that I've owned in the past. This is probably a positive for skiing or for wearing, but a negative if they're sitting in your pack. The stretchiness is nice for athletic use, such as skiing or biking. The biggest issue I've come across - is that the leg and foot opening is a bit narrow for a boot. Thus, if you're walking on the trail and need to throw on rain pants... you don't want to have to take off your boots! Or, if you're putting these on to ride a bike to work - again, same issue... On the plus side, they probably look nicer than the pants that have gigantic foot openings that allow you to put them on over hiking boots. Btw, I'm an adult - I wear kids gear because it's cheap and they make it in smaller sizes. I'm 5'7 and 135, and the size 14 seem to be about right.

Very waterproof but a bit stuffy

Another adult (165cm, ~55kg) and this fit me, if a bit short on the inseam. I bought this for dragon boating, so I ended up not using this as much since I don't need its level of waterproofing and found it a bit stuffy. It's truly waterproof, not just mostly water-repellent until a certain point when it soaks in anyways.
