ABC Clips

These are perfect for my Kindergarten class. My students enjoy clipping the letters to match the letter sound. It's a step up from writing the letter on a clothes pin. It also gives the students the ability to flip the letter around in the direction that is needed depending on the activity. Definitely worth the price!

Lettered Plastic Clips Only, No Cards Included, Must Print & Cut, Small Box, Not Impressed

This is a small box of 45 little plastic clips with letters on them, and a thin instruction book with a link/QRC to a website that has some pages you can print & cut out yourself. From the product page and the price, I assumed the cards were included in the set, but this isn't the case. I'm very underwhelmed with this order. I'm a former teacher with training in ECE, and I ordered this because I have a 5 year old grandson who is behind for his age on fine motor control. I thought these would serve a fun & positive purpose when he comes to visit. As it is, I have a bunch of clothespins and markers that would work just as well or better than what's in this set, with the added bonus of coloring pictures and writing letters & numbers onto each clothespin along with Grandma! Please don't get me wrong; this isn't a *bad* set, and the clips are easy child-size pincers. I just figured they'd include a lot more for nearly $17 when I ordered it so they'd be a better value for what you get. I'd buy these if they were $5, but not over 3 times that amount. I was pretty disappointed with this. I won't recommend these as they're not a good value and it's something people can easily make themselves without overspending. If you do decide to get them, just be prepared for what you're really buying.

Good educational idea, but missing a key element

I've seen rudimentary forms of this idea before, usually handmade, and this is a technically superior, manufactured design. The clips are indeed ideal for little hands, and the tiles are clearly marked and perfectly suited to their purpose. But the least expensive part to produce, the cards shown in all the images, are not included, which severely reduces the value of the set. The brief instruction pamphlet gives a QR code to download a limited set of cards to be used to print on your own. It is hoped, I guess, that you have a printer and a supply of suitable cardstock, because these clips would be a nightmare on standard printer paper. Out of the box, this product is useless, much to the consternation of my 3 year old who wanted to play with the clips immediately.

Easy to use but no task cards

These little clip letters are great for little ones to develop their fine motor skills along with letters sounds and recognition. This box only includes the letters and an instruction manual, no task cards. The task cards are downloadable through there instruction manuals and then you’ll have to print it out on your own. These can be good so you can print and laminate the cards but it takes more time and resources. It’s definitely requires some prep. If you have other reading resources for reading these could be paired really well other classroom resources. I’d say these are worth it’s value, because they’re nice and easy to use.

Just the clips

The media could not be loaded. Best part of this product is you can rotate the direction the letter faces. To note: this does NOT come with any word cards. The part you pinch to open the clip is short, meaning you only squeeze a tiny bit to open it, but you requires more finger strength than I’d expected. For reference clothespins are you have to squeeze more, but they are easier to use… Overall- i wouldn’t recommend this product.

Good set, kid is ignoring for now

It matches the pictures. The box is divided so you can sort them back to store. The clips are color coded. Vowels are one color, the constanents are another. It's not super tough to squeeze and open. Turning is not as easy as placing but it's possible. There's printed cardboard inside but it'll fall apart easily. If roughly handled so I reccomend those who want to rely on organization supplement it with tape. I've had an item change on me in the far past. At purchase this was called "hand2mind Learn My Letters Fine Motor Clips, Kids Clothespin Activities, Letter Practice for Preschoolers, Toddler Alphabet Learning Toys, Pincer Grasp Toys, Fine Motor Toys, Reading Manipulatives" This is a new product, so it's description may adjust to suit the product over time.

Cards NOT included

I was a bit disappointed that no cards are included in the packaging even though that's what the packaging shows. I should have read the "fine print" I guess. Nevertheless, its still a might fine product and perfect for working on dexterity, fine motor skills, and visual recognition. Its essentially clips with lettering on them where the little one can manipulate and clip onto cards, either matching letters or spelling out what's on the card. Pretty excellent concept. My toddler is currently 2 and change and am planning on introducing this to him soon. The box says 3+ but I think its never too early to start. Once they are able to manipulate finer objects, they could totally start working with these. Love the product but come one, throw us some cards!

Good concept, incomplete implementation

When my children were in kindergarten, the school was using IBM's Writing to Read program. That program's solution to young children's fine motor skills deficit was a bank of IBM Selectric typewriters. So when I saw this product for our grandchildren, I thought great--less costly and more portable. The clips are decent and color coded (vowels and consonants). You can rotate the letters on the clips depending on orientation needed, although I doubt the grandkids will be able to do that themselves. What is truly disappointing is the cards that make the clips useful are not included, I can only assume to save a few cents cost of goods. Instead you are directed to a website to download 6 PDF files, print them with a color printer for best results onto card stock, which many people would have to buy specially to print the cards.
