I was relying on the shear strength for the bonds between 2x8s and cedar posts which were notched out for the 2x8. In other words the 2x8 resting snug in the post the screws three per post board to bond them together. A windstorm hit during construction. Upon inspection of 36 screws. 4 had snapped and 4 others bent. They were all removed in favor of a through bolt. The structure had no give in the screw failure locations. For the cost. I’d rather run a lag or bolt through. Which is what I usually do. I’m trying a different type of structural. I’ll review that one in time.

Great screws
I love all GRK screws. It is my go-to screw for a variety of applications. I use these to drive 2x4 into 4x4 treated post. They are structural, so I consider these beefy enough for my needs. The washer head provides a more stable attachment.

They’re the fastest driving screws I’ve used
These are soo much better than the stuff I’ve gotten at Home Depot. They drive super easy, they grab effortlessly, and no issues with stripped heads. Definitely worth it

Good strong screws.
Making a junior (low) loft 4 ft high we have low ceilings. 8x8 feet wide and long. Used these screws for framing as I have back and neck problems and it’s easier to use the drill than hammering into thick wood. No need to drill pilot holes if you go slow at first.

Best Screws
Lag bolts are a thing of the past in my shop. I can remember only one failure after using thousands of these screws. Made in Taiwan.

These screws are recommended by Simonton window company
A bit pricey but I got them fast. Their a great quality. Most installers use plan wood screws which are not recommended by Simonton. These screws are designed for vinyl windows.

Strong, least likely to cam out or strip the head
I use GRK screws when I can (that is, when they are right for the application and the size I need is available). They are hardened so they will not twist apart under torque that and the heads will not cam out (and then strip out) like some other screws will (even with Torx heads). They are not indestructible, but they do seem stronger than Swan Secure, GripRite and other brands I have tried. It works as designed to drill _closer_ to an edge without splitting wood than other screws (as designed), but it has it's limitations. The down side is that they are more expensive than other screws, and they don't always offer the specific size I would like, but they make up for that many times over by the frustration they have saved me by not breaking or stripping out.

Solid fastener
I have no idea of the 'structural' strength of these things as i'm not sure what test would actually prove it's strength. But in the field, it seems to be a very well made and easy to use fastener. I have driven roughly 50-60 of the 3 1/8" so far and not one has even hinted at wanting to strip out the head. They drive very easily in pressure treated 2 or 4x. .Because of their composition (hardened steel), they have the strength of a nail, along with the usefulness of a screw. You can't say that about ceramic coated exterior screws which will simply snap in half under the right conditions.

Structural screws
Great screws. A little pricey but worth it. They bring the wood tight against each other.

Quality screws.
They work as described.

Great quality structural screws
Very good quality screws. Replace lag bolts - save time by avoiding the need to pre-drill. I used these to anchor heavy duty 5” L brackets to the garage ceiling to create suspended overhead shelves.

Unlike deck screws. It helped tightening the gaps.
I have a project to build garage shelves which drops from the ceiling. This RSS screw helped me to secure the beam tightly onto the ceiling. I think it has to do something with the built-in washer that helps pushing the beam. Regular deck screw wouldn't be able to close the gap between the ceiling's stud and the beam.
