Pricey but the adapter alone is worth the price.

This set works perfectly fine with my Gerber Truss. The bit assortment is good for most applications. If you need particular bits you can use the rubber holder to store the nine 1/4 inch hex bits you use most. The key piece is the adapter which has a square end that fits on your multitool Phillips head tool (if you have the right multi tool.) The other end of the adapter accepts any 1/4 inch hex drive bit. The set comes with a handy nylon sheath which has a belt loop on the back and a flap to cover the compartments and close with hook and loop. The storage area is divided into two compartments. I keep the rubber bit storage in the rear compartment. That leaves plenty of room in the front compartment for my Gerber Dime. With my Dime, Truss and this bit set side by side on my belt I have a decent set of tools.

Very happy with purchase

This review is with the product just received so can't say anything about durability of the items. Firstly I was not expecting the sheath that came with it (and is made in USA along with the bits). Very nice surprise and it's the only nylon sheath I would use with my tools. It's much softer than the Chinese made ones. The sheath has two compartments - back one is for the MP600 or MP400 (and I assume other tools in the MP line), and the front compartment are for the bits. Unfortunately the front compartment doesn't have room for the bit pack when using the MP600. However it's just fine when carrying an MP400. It would have been nice if it worked with both as I think it was intended. Still a good sheath for the MP600 without carrying the bit pack (which will fit fine in your pocket anyway). As was mentioned by another reviewer there is duplication with a few of the bits due the size of some of the Phillips and straight screwdriver bits already built into the MP series tools. I've got a bunch of these standard size bits though in all sorts of configurations so I'll choose a few of those to replace the ones that are duplicative (I like that word). I've seen questions on whether it fits Diesel and other models. The answer is no on the Diesel. It must be the squared Phillips as is on the MP models.

It works well, if you like the multitool.

It really multiplied the abilities of my gerber mp-600 multitool. The magnet kept bits and screws attached. The bit holder permits standard tool bits. Also, the kit included a very good selection of bits. E.g. the exact right no. 1 Phillips-head used on most larger consumer electronic items. Also, I found I could disassemble and repair most office cubicles (the hex heads were the exact needed sizes.) and many bathroom and lighting fixtures. However, I never used about 2/3 of the bits. Also, the multitool was much less comfortable than a screwdriver, so I started carrying and using different multitool (leatherman wave) and a separate bit-driver. I have a messenger bag, and it has more space than a pocket or a belt holster. In my EDC experience, in decreasing utility: toothpick, knife, scissors, file, pliers, bit driver, can and bottle opener. Never used: Saw, flat bladed screwdrivers, scalloped cordage knife, wire crimper, wire stripper, wire cutter.

Very good, but has some bit duplication

The adapter has 85% of the usefulness of this kit. Why? Because there are several flat head screwdriver bits that duplicate what is already in most Gerber multi-tools that this will fit. My recommendation is to replace those with #2 square drive and some more metric hex bits. The adapter has a neodymium magnet in the middle. One end has a square receptacle that mates up with the square shank on a Gerber MP400 or MP600. The other end has a 1/4" hex opening, to fit standard 1/4" drive hex bits. Bit kits are available everywhere, so you can remove the bits you don't need (like all the flat head ones) and replace them with whatever is useful to you. For carpenters, maybe #1 and #2 square (Robertson) drive. For technicians, maybe Tamper-resistant Torx or Allen. Maybe even add another adapter to get to 1/4" drive sockets? The included pouch is a mystery. It will of course hold the bits pictured, but it has another pouch too. What is that for? Another bit holder, with some extra bits, I bet, because it is too thin (no depth) for a multi-tool to fit in there. The material is finer weave and thinner than the material in Gerbers MP-series multi-tools, so it will not be quite as rugged, if you put an MT in there. The sky's the limit, once you have this adapter. I'd buy it again without hesitation.

GERBER 45200 TOOL KIT

Just recieved my tool kit today. On Amazon it does not state if it come with a sheath or not. Just to let everyone know that this kit contains a multitool nylon sheath with a small compartment to hold the tool kit, but it is too tight to fit both the tool kit and the Gerber 600 multitlool into the included nylon sheath. The multitool 600 will fit inside the sheath, but it will not close fully on the velcro. Overall the tool kit is very good quality, in black non-reflective finish. On the clamshell package it stated the tool kit is made in China, and the sheath is made in U.S.A., so for the people that is very curious about if Gerber product is made in U.S. or not, now you know before making your purchase. I will purchase this product again, if I ever buy another Gerber multitool to make a set. I will rate this kit a five star, if the sheath that came with the tool kit will close fully for my Gerber 600 multitool. I think this is a quality control issue, or a design issue.

Good quality and very useful

Excellent product. I use these all the time since I've placed them into my EDC kit (the one that doesn't go on the plane). It's good to know that I always have a multitool and these attachments with me in case I need them. If you had to carry all of these attachments around as individual drivers, that'd be a lot of space. The one thing that could improve this product would be a tighter fit of the adapter onto the multitool. If that was uber-magnetic, or was a very tight fit, then you could use this more universally and not have to worry about the heads falling off. Also, if they were magnetic, you could find them easier by passing some other metal over them to have them spring back up again out of the dirt/grass/mud/whatever when they get lost.

Makes the main tool even more useful

Worth every penny and the bits are good quality. This slides into the main tool sheath alongside it, so I now have a compact toolkit to hand when loos or lights go wrong or boxes need opening etc.

Prodotto credo originale in quanto arrivato con la sua scatola della Gerber. E' un contenitore in gomma semi-morbida che contiene all'interno gli accessori della pinza e il relativo adattatore. Inoltre c'è anche il fodero che ha una tasca per gli accessori e una per la pinza. La piccola prolunga in gomma è utile per estrarre il porta accessori dal fodero/contenitore. Aggiungo che circa 20 anni fa acquistai la pinza Gerber che si vede in foto. Oggi finalmente la "completo" con gli accessori. Eccellente!!! Aggiornamento del 02/02/2017. Ho tolto una stella, passando da 5 a 4 perché l'inserto cilindrico iniziava a presentare dei punti di ruggine, pur non essendo mai stato esposto alle intemperie. Uno stracceto, un po' d'olio e qualche strofinio è la ruggine è andata via. (P.s. L'ho acquistato da poco quindi aggiornerò la recensione se noterò nel tempo un eventuale mancato contenimento in sede dell'adattatore, come segnalato in alcune recensioni in lingua inglese)

This bit set is great! It comes with an upgraded nylon pouch that has 2 pockets. 1 front pocket for these bits, a rear pocket for the tool. The bits are comprised of a 1/4" square magnetic coupler that slides on to the square phillips bit in tool, 3 different sized standard slot, phillips and hex bits held securely in a rubber holder which stubbornly slides into front pocket of pouch. The rubber is somewhat grippy. I lined the front pouch with the instructions which helps with un/sheathing. Everything works great otherwise! Nice upgrade! Cheers, Dave
