My cats love it!

This is their new favorite toy. They get so excited they knock it over but it doesn't hurt it at all. We are still on the first set of batteries and they play it at least an hour each day.

This works pretty well

This toy only does the laser light, but it does that pretty well. It's simple and easy to work, and the kittens enjoy it. The pattern varies quite a bit which keeps them engaged. Maybe not for super long periods, but it does amuse them for awhile. It's also a quiet toy which is kind of nice. (Some of the other devices we have make a lot of noise.) It can tip over, but that doesn't seem to happen often, maybe because the focus is on following the light rather than capturing the device itself. And it seems solid, not that fragile. For a price point of just under $14, I think it's a good buy.

Worked Great At First But After 8 Months It's Dead In The Water

Worked like a charm and our 5 cats absolutely loved it as will pet parents/ owners. But now it stopped turning, shuts off quickly, burns through batteries and is just more crap in the corner. Just purchased another brand to take the place of this one. If you're considering it, just realize it's not going to last a year and you'll be ordering another brand also.

Loki the Cat here. I don't have much time to write this review, as my stupid human captors are light sleepers and I don't want them to see me typing. (They still think I can't write, even though they've seen how great I am at walking on the keyboard) Now about this ... this ... mindbogglingly interesting red thing. At first, I was pretty sure it was just some kind of shiny bug. It was on MY floor though so, naturally I HAD TO GET IT. I've killed my share of flies and other small pests (I'm a pretty well known assassin in this field,) but THIS one... I just don't know. It had some kind of teleportation powers! I know that sounds crazy, I know. But I SWEAR I had it under my paws, and then it was suddenly three feet away, scurrying about like it didn't even feel the WRATH of my vicious pounce! NOTHING has evaded me so effortlessly in all my years. Its like some sort of ninja dot. I thought maybe this was a form of human trickery, but my humans weren't even in the room! Good thing too, I didn't want anyone to see how hard this thing was for me to catch. I chased this dot for what felt like days, and THEN, just as suddenly as it appeared, it VANISHED. Just like that. I was both disappointed and a little relieved, but then later that day it came BACK! Now it seems to just appear, run from me for a certain amount of time, and then vanish. Each time I am MORE determined to catch it, and I vow ONE DAY I will finally grab it, and probably eat it in celebration. I may play coy and pretend to be licking myself, but I'm waiting for you, my red nemesis. Your days are numbered.

Might get boring for cat. If it does, put it on its side.

My cat Rico is the most energetic animal I've ever had, from dog to cat to bird to hamster, her energy knows now bounds. She needs about an hour of play a day before she stops begging for play. As you can imagine, I started looking for toys to make it easier on me. At first when we got this toy, she was incredibly bored with it and played with it for maybe a minute (maybe) before turning back to me for play. It goes in circles. Just circles. Not much to it. HOWEVER. Once she accidentally knocked it on its side, the fun started. The laser would go everywhere from the floor to the ceiling, and the toy would move itself in circles so that the dot's trajectory would change. Suddenly, she loved it. She chatters at the dot when it's on the ceiling, jumps for it when it's on the walls, and paws/pounces at it when it's on the ground. If your cat is high energy and needy, this toy MIGHT work. No promises here. But your best best is to put it on its side, mind your eyes and watch your cat go crazy.

Great toy - the different speeds are very useful
