Solid Pair of +1s for Rx Backup

If you have a prescription for minor corrective reading glasses and you lose a pair / break a pair / don't want to take your good glasses to work — these will do the trick. I take them to work and other places I'm likely to break / lose glasses and they get the job done. They are reasonably comfortable and light weight as well. Perhaps not the most stylish ever but solid in all respects. Would buy another pair if I lose or broke the ones I have but so far so good after several months use. Update: April 2022 - still going strong with these, have withstood normal amounts of abuse pretty well.

Not a sturdy frame, lens separates

Like the styling, fit and look. The lens quality could be a little better, but it is good enough as a reader, as I have not seen the distortion that others have complained about and I tend to be very sensitive to distorted lenses and glass. HOWEVER, the frame quality is garbage. I made the mistake of traveling down the road of insanity by buying 3 pairs over 18 months. The first set I bought from a corner drugstore, and the frame separated just like you see in the photos. I thought it was a fluke, thinking I broke them myself somehow. I bought two more sets from Amazon, fulfilled by Amazon LLC. These, as you see in the photos ,failed the same way as my first set. It is though they used a weak adhesive on a very small surface area that just gave up the ghost. There is no mechanical fastening there. The lenses are curved but the frame is straight so the adhesive is under tension the whole time, bound to separate. I have a set held together with a twist tie until replacements show up. Sent a nastygram to Foster Grant - poor mechanical design and questionable quality control. If you can find them under $20 they are a decent deal. But when they are north of $25, stay away, there are cheaper and better quality readers to be found.

Wearable all day; perfect for the computer.

I had a pair of these I bought at a drugstore, but after several years, the finish wore off one temple piece. But they fit perfectly, are tinted for heavy computer use (which is what I do), and are comfortable. So when I found the same glasses here on Amazon, buying a pair was a no-brainer, and I'm extremely satisfied with these glasses. I use separate glasses for computing and for reading, so when I need a new pair of readers, this is the model I'll be buying.

Good value for Blue Light Protection.

These are a bit expensive for "Cheaters", but when you consider they have the added protection from Blue Light, they are a bargain. Adding a coating to prescription lenses to do the same costs close to $200. I cannot say for sure which does the better job, but given I'm not currently in the market for new prescription lenses, this looked like a good alternative. If you are not aware of the dangers of blue light - which is emitted by your digital devices (computer screens, tablets, phones etc), you should educate yourself. Eventually, the damage caused by blue light can lead to blindness. It cannot be reversed once it occurs. Best to try and limit your exposure.

Cool look from outside but...

I wanted to like these. Nice fit, high quality, light weight, cuts the blue as advertised. But the lenses are odd. The magnifying is limited to a coin sized area while the rest of each lens is neutral. So its like looking through tiny old-fashioned or maybe steampunk goggles. Similar to the side-to-side view limit of progressive lenses. I think its part of the weight optimization effort, but too weird for me. Possibly my eye pupil distance is not right for these?

Fashionable and effective. Good value.

This review is for the +1.0 power glasses. They are extremely fashionable for the price. Definitely not your typical hideous drugstore reading glasses. They are great for reading and don't have the extreme amber color that most blue light filtering glasses have. The optical clarity is good for a non-prescription pair of glasses, but there is slight distortion toward the outside edges, which is only barely noticeable if you are walking around with them on. I will likely get a second pair as a backup.

Was dearer than i have found ,but arrived and was what expected
