Perfect for art journals - and it’s low-odor

This gesso is perfect for art journaling or mixed media projects. It is not professional level, so it has a little less tooth than some gessoes, but it still works as intended for a base layer, even with the many layers I add to a page. One of my favorite features is the squeeze bottle. I can easily add a little bit here and there without having to leave a jar of gesso open, and never having to wrestle with a lid is the best! Additionally, many gessoes have a chemical smell that makes it so I almost can’t work unless I’m outside; this one does not. My asthma and I are really grateful for that. Overall, this is my go to gesso and I recommend it for anyone who wants a craft or student-level gesso, or who just want a “toothier” chalk paint.

A Good Product

I haven’t used this product yet so can’t say exactly how well it will work. I will adjust my review if anything changes, but I would recommend purchasing right now. I purchased to use for mixed media crafts.

A handy small bottle for amateurs like me.

I do some paper crafting and mixed media collages, on and off, as time and energy permit. I don't use a whole lot of gesso, but need to have some available, now and then. This little plastic bottle is perfect for that. The gesso is good and makes a surface that the media stick to well. I have to dilute it some most of the time. So it's actually good value for money for me, but if you are an artist who needs lots of gesso, it's a very poor value! The convenience of a smallish, handy bottle with good quality gesso is exactly what a hobbyist like me wants and I'm glad to pay the extra.

Great Primer for small craft projects!

I'm a professional artist. I wanted to paint a pair of canvas shoes for fun but didn't want to spend a million dollars for a gallon of Gesso. This Gesso/ primer worked equally as well as any expensive Gesso I've used. I would definitely recommend it. Great price, great quality.

Water based safety and easy clean up! Use with acrylics!

A water-based gesso that was safe to use on my 3-D printed plastic project. Covers printing step lines and is sandable for producing smooth paintable surfaces. Worked great over wood-filler also.
