Just what I hoped they would be

I never buy footwear online due to the variance in sizes, but I was determined to end cold toes and needed the most options for the best price. The fit is slightly on the larger side which is a welcome variance as it allows for thicker socks if desired. I only have 30 miles on these, so far, but they do the trick. I did 20 miles in mid-40 degree sunny weather with just tube socks on (the kind you find in the supermarket) and my toes were okay but not warm. They were colder than that when I put the shoes on and they got slightly warmer as the ride went on. Figuring starting warm makes a difference, I tried medium weight wool blend socks on the next ride with warm feet when I put them on. This ride was 10 miles in steady rain at night in upper 30-degree weather. With water coming down and up from puddles, my toes were warm the whole trip and my feet were completely dry when I took them off.

Warm Feet

Based on some of the reviews I was a little nervous about these since people tend to complain when temperatures get below freezing. My first ride with these was at 20 deg. F for 1.5 hours. A pair of wool socks and toe warmers and my feet never felt chilly or anything close to cold. The same set up in my normal shoes with thermal covers would yield frozen toes. I have no doubt I could go down another 5-10 degrees without much of an issue. I got these on a really good deal and would recommend them if you find them at an affordable price. Work well for winter fat biking.

Sizing is a JOKE!

Got all excited when I saw they had a size 15. They arrived and the size right on the box is 12.5. Waste of time.
