Pleasantly Surprised.

I originally wanted the Remo Floor Tom for my daughter's first drum, but it wasn't in-stock when I needed it. So I purchased this with the intentions of upgrading to the Remo as soon I could. Once I opened this drum and gave it a try I was pleasantly surprised. This drum really packs a punch. It has a deep, smooth sound. Aside from looks, there is nothing toy-ish about this drum. It's also constructed out of wood. I've decided to stick with this drum because I can't image that the Remo could be any better than this one. The mallets are well made and safe for my 17-month-old daughter to use unattended, without me worrying. The drum is also easy enough for her to produce great sounds by herself. I highly recommend this drum if you are looking to introduce your young toddler to music and want them to experience something as realistic as possible (not the annoying plastic baby "drums").

Great drum, but keep away from pets!

I have a 3 year old and a 9 year old and they loved this drum. It has a great sound that does not drive a parent too nuts. The only caution I would give is that the head of this drum is made of some sort of animal hide that my dog loved. When we were not home she ripped it apart and gnawed on it! I totally recommend the product, but would advise that it should be kept out of reach of dogs!!

Birthday party favorite

This was a Birthday gift for my granddaughter. As soon as she opened it all the kids wanted to play with it. It has a very nice sound and fairly strong and durable as long as you keep it away from water.

Music encourages learning

My grandson loved the floor toms I sent to him for his 3rd birthday. He grinned from ear to ear. His 6 year old sister loved it, too. Musical instruments encourage learning, you know.

Flat sound

Five year old boy loves these drums, but they do not have good sound. It's very flat, and doesn't actually respond well to making sound with hands, as I would expect these to be used with. With sticks, better sound can be made, but still the sound just doesn't reverberate like you would like it to. The two drums have come loose on the connecting bit of wood, and they twist when carried, but otherwise they've held up for the last six months.

My daughter asked me to order these. She is starting a new mom and me music program. The price and quality of these drums make this purchase an excellent value. She will use them for her class but they also make great gifts for others. Sound is fairly loud but not too loud. It is a drum after all.

AUTHENTIC, WELL MADE, AND PERFECTLY SIZED FOR LITTLE DRUMMERS!

OMG these are the perfect size for a toddler and they are well made, AUTHENTIC BONGOS! This is one of those top ten gifts that you can get just about any toddler and know that they will LOVE IT TO PIECES! Thankfully this is made really sturdy, so hopefully my little guy won't literally love it to pieces! LOL

Looks great and quality seems to be good. Only sound may be can be improved, but fpr 2-3 yo doesn’t really matter :)
