Comfortable and warm for the money

Great wind/weather repellant outer material. I have 7/3/8 head bough a Lge-XL Was loose enough to fit a tight fitting fleece skull cap on underneath. Adjustable chin strap is a plus and keeps my melon warm and dry in New England Winters. Would have rated it a 5 if it was made in America

This hat was purchased solely for protection from the harsh environments. The look of this item isn't grand but I wasn't keen on appearences anyhow. I've owned a few Trapper hats in the past but this my go to option. The faux fur lining is quite soft and act as a barrier against the frigid cold. The ear flaps , in my opinion, are a nuisance and I haven't noticed a substaintional difference in keeping my ears toasty. In the event they aren't button down they pop out a tad. The hat itself was a bit larger than I anticipated even though I have a huge noggin based on the hats I've worn beforehand. An FYI for those curious. The forehead flap is held in place by magnets but I prefer mine in the down position. The magnets itself seem to be of a decent quality and I haven't had issues in clasping or opening them but compared to the black exterior of the hat the silver tends to outweigh in the terms of looks. The clasps located at the bottom of the trapper hat is adjustable but even so it still hung down the bottom of my chin when at its tightest fit. Not a big issue but I'm not of a fan of such. The neck portion of the hat is quite bare and I've had to wear a scarf alongside this item. The shell of the hat though is indeed water resistant as it survived a vicious downpour keeping my hair dry and my head warm. The faux fur tends to moisten to an extent but that's expected during a rain session. I'm content with this purchase and I plan on testing it out in more rigorous sceneries. Afterwards I'll update this review based on its performance.

Mountain man hat....

So, I am taking my son to college in Idaho. I live in a very warm area. When I looked up the weather and saw 5 degrees, I thought I might die on the week I was there. I have lived in the cold, but 5 degrees is really cold! So, I found this hat that would cover my head and my ears. I did not care about fashion one bit. I want to be comfortable. Then, my plan was to leave the hat with my son so he could use it at college since I don't need it. When I told him what type of hat I got, he said, "no way!" As a college student with a social life, he was concerned about wearing the hat I described. However, when it got here, he was really really impressed. Instead of the "elmer fudd" hat, it is now the "mountain man" hat. Truthfully, it does look really nice on him. As a side note, my son and I have larger heads and this works perfectly. I add that because I personally like to know how things fit. This is a very nice hat in person. The details are good, the fuzzy part is soft and it is high quality. And, in cold weather, it is even slightly mountain man fashionable!

Pretty alright and good value.

So far, so good. I was boggled at the choice between 2 sizes...reviews said the smaller was fit for a child but the larger one sounded like I'd need a fairly large man's head for it to fit. I am a 5'11 average female. I ordered the large because I work outdoors in all kinds of weather all-day and needed something ASAP and this size was available for 1 day delivery...while smaller was not. I am wearing it with a lightweight beanie underneath and this way it fits fine. Without the beanie it would be a bit big. It works well to block the wind when I am wearing a jacket without a hood. I do with the back of the hat was about 1-2 inches longer to cover up some of the back of my neck...even with under-armour mock turtle-neck...there was still space between hat and shirt. I don't care it if is or is-not stylish, I'm wearing it for work. For the price it was a good deal. I've probably worn it to work 5-6 of the most extreme weather days. I've never had another trapper hat...so not much to compare to, but I needed the wind blocked...was blowing right through just a beanie. I'd purchase again.

My head is warm

This is an understated solid piece of winter weather gear. I wear a uniform and I work outside. We don't have an issued winter weather hat, only a hood to attach to the issued jacket. This hat keeps my head comfortably warm, flaps up or down, and it looks professional. I can wear the hood over it if needed. I bought it do wear a work, but I've found I'm using it for any extreme cold.

Seems solid..just wasn't for me I guess

Was super excited. Had gotten the L/XL and it's just too big, hat won't stay on. So I gave it away and ordered the S/M and can't fit it on my head... Guess it wasn't meant to be with me and this product ???? took me $60+ to find out but that's life right?

For the price the quality is good.

Small-medium will fit most adults fine. If you have a lot of hair I'll prefer one size up.

Be careful of the sizeing

I ordered the extra large and found it to be somewhat loose, however it was still very functional and warm. If I were to buy another I would maybe get the size smaller but it might be a bit too small. Therefore I will settle for the larger one and maybe expand in to it. All things said I am very happy with the product it does keep you very warm

Es estético. Si ves bien en la imagen, la parte que protege las orejas se puede mantener así o subirla. También las partes laterales tienen un gancho que permiten ajustarlas y subirlas en la parte de arriba. Eso sí, la parte "acolchada" sólo se encuentra en la parte de las orejas laterales y como se muestra en la imagen en la parte de la frente PERO, la zona donde se mete la cabeza no contiene ese aborregado, sólo una capa sintética que no calienta. También tiene un seguro que permite ajustar las alas a tu barbilla y no permitir que se te caiga por si te duermes (le sucedió a mi hermano con un gorro) o que alguien te lo quite con facilidad. Es linda, calienta lo suficiente y es estética. La compré en Amazon aproximadamente a un precio de 350.

Hubby loves it

Just bought this hat for my husband and he really likes it, weather is not as cold these days so will have to wait & see if it keeps his head & ears toasty when out snowplowing on cold & windy days. Will update later on.

Buena gorro tipo "Ushanka"

Buena Ushanka economica. justo como se describe, nylon en el exterior y con piel sintética como en la imagen, de su descripción. Pros: Buen precio y buenos materiales para ese precio Contras: La parte interior también es nylon, que A MI PARECER resta un poco de protección contra el frio, pero aun así es buena opción. Tuve que agregar un relleno en esa parte para estar 100% cómodo a una temperatura de -2° C.
