Documented that it is tot for Sensi Touch - but will work with slight modification
This product, although often times sold with the Sensi touch, is not 100% a fit for the Touch. However, with a very small modification this works perfectly, and far cheaper (less than 50% of the plate that will work, so they claim). To make this work there are two tiny prongs on the outside surface of the plate (where the thermostat base sits) that prevent the base sitting flush. I cut them off and it works nicely. The plate sits flush and you cannot tell that it was not meant for the touch. I needed this because the old thermostat fit into a vertical blue gang box and the Sensi touch really requires a horizontal mount. I did not want to go through that work, it was easier just to buy a plate to sit behind the thermostat. NOTE: I took a chance even though it is documented that this is not for the Sensi Touch because this was less than $7 and the one that is a non-brand that is supposed to work with the Sensi Touch as greater than $15, I needed two, so this was a trial and error kind of thing for me. And I just figured out this little "trick" to make it work.

Took awhile to arrive.
When I purchased our new thermostat I didn’t realize the plate can separate. I ordered it and it took longer than stated. Wasn’t a huge deal as much as an inconvenience. Had to wait to replace our faulty thermostat. Was easy to install and works as stated.

Buying the Thermostat?
If you are buying the Emerson Thermostat, order the plate also. It will help cover any areas not painted due to your old thermostat placement. You will be happy you did

Works if had correct thermostat
Back plate did not fit the sensi thermostat I purchased, even though it was listed as an add on when I purchased the thermostat. I had to snip off the locking tabs on the plate so the thermostat would fit flat. Back plate info says won't fit, now that I read the info. Just assumed since paired as add on, it would fit. Can be used with Bosch BCC-100 thermostats
Purchased 3 of these to put behind my new Bosch BCC-100 thermostats. My old thermostats were a little bigger than the Bosch ones, so there were old mounting holes showing. This plate worked very well to cover those holes with 2 minor modifications: 1) We had to nip off 2 little bumps on the plate so the bosch would sit flush in the center. 2) We drilled 2 new mounting slots so the bosch would sit at the top of the indented center area. This left a little of the indented area showing underneath the bosch, but that is in the shadow line. Overall very satisfied with these, nicely made, good price, and easy to modify for our needs.

Makes mounting easier
I went from a vertical thermostat to the horizontal Sensi. This plate covered the wiring hole and all but one of the screw holes. If it had been a half larger, that would have been covered, too. The thermostat easily and perfectly mounts to the plate.
