Die verstellbare runde Matrize der DWT-Serie von Drill America aus Qualtech-Schnellarbeitsstahl ist für eine längere Verschleißlebensdauer erwünscht. Runde Matrizen sind auf beiden Seiten abgeschrägt. Eine Seite hat eine Fase mit 2 bis 3 Gewindegängen zum Gewindeschneiden, die andere Seite hat eine Fase mit 1 bis 1-1/2 Gewindegängen zum Gewindeschneiden nahe einer Schulter. Die Einstellung erfolgt über eine Schraube mit feiner Steigung, die die Seiten der Matrize auseinander drückt oder sie zusammenfedern lässt. Der Schlitz ist abgeschrägt, sodass bei Verwendung der Matrize in einem Maschinenhalter die Einstellschraube entfernt und die Einstellung mithilfe der Einstellschrauben im Halter vorgenommen werden kann.

It worked, but with difficulty.

I used this to thread 3/4/" galvanized pipe for use with a wood clamp. I found it difficult to use and get threads deep enough to thread on the clamp.

Excellent quality

I bought a new faucet for my wife's kitchen sink and the threads were messed up (probably banged up during production, brass is kind of soft) on it right out of the box. Rather than return the item and wait for a new one, I got this die, chased the thread to the correct size and installed it with no problem. Took two days. Excellent quality, worked as advertised. Would recommend.

Way oversized

Die cuts well but is way oversized. The adjustment screw which allows adjustment to a slightly larger tolerance is actually unnecessary in this case, I couldn't even compress it enough in the die stock to get even an H3 fit. My plug gage rattles around on it it is so oversized and my ring gage won't even thread onto a threading performed with this die. Waste of money, you'd be better served buying a similar priced item from an actual machine tooling supplier for about the same money.

Avoid!

Terrible!!! Dull and difficult to thread even brass. When backing off, it starts to thread in reverse. Worst die I have ever had the misfortune of using. From China. Spend more for a better quality die.

Outstanding quality. Due to space limitations I had to grind 6 flats on the OD and use a socket. i was amazed how much force I could apply without damaging the pipe die.

DO NOT BUY

Wrong size, shoddy quality. They sent me a 1/8" NPT made out of (unfinished, non-hardened) high carbon steel. There were a lot of burrs which would dig in to pieces unnecessarily, and to make things worse, when I sent it back to receive a replacement/refund, they just ignored me. Do NOT buy if you want high-speed steel, or need a 1/16" die. I understand that buying chinesium can disappoint sometimes, but this was just ridiculous. At LEAST send me a crappy version of the right part...

This item was used to thread Stainless Steel Pipe and completed the 10 pipes required without any signs of wear. Very good product.
