Very good light, but too complicated
I ride my bike in the street during the day. I want a flashing light that will help other traffic see me. I previously had a Cygolite Metro 300 which gave perfect service for 5 years. When the USB connector became unreliable, I decided to get another Cygolite. The Zot 250 is an idea light. Small, bright enough to be seen without blinding drivers, very rugged body, extremely easy but reliable mount. What more can one want from a bicycle light? Well, actually, the question is what *less* can one want. This light has too many modes, and it's too complicated to use. Turn the light on, cycle through the 4 different options, and the only flash you will find is one that sucks the battery dry in 2 hours flat. If you want a flash that will last the whole ride, you have to get to the other modes by pressing and holding the power button, having made sure you previously turned the light off. Then cycle through to see the flash modes. Cygolite says their light remembers the previous mode. That isn't exactly true. Once you get the light into a flash mode, turn it off. Turn it on again, and it's back in the first 4 options. The only way to get to the flash mode is to turn the light off, then do the long press when turning it on. If that isn't complicated enough, there is also a boost mode. (There's no description of what is boosted, but I'm thinking the battery life probably suffers.) There's also a lockout feature, which If I ever accidentally enter, seems to guarantee I will never be able to figure out how to get the light on again. It's great that customer service answers Email questions quickly. But this is seriously too complicated for a bike light. I have one other minor complaint. The light is built to take it inside and charge it from a USB port. I leave my lights on the bike all the time. I have a multi-port USB charger to charge my bike stuff. The rubber mounting strap is directly above the charging port with the moisture plug. It's a bit of a trick to get both pieces out of the way so I can insert the USB cable. This is a minor annoyance. If the light wasn't so complicated to use, I would have given it 5 stars. Even with the complicated operation, the light looks like it will give many years of reliable service. That is its only purpose, so I give it 4 stars. And I sincerely hope I never accidentally find the light lockout.

Confusing setup for flashing mode
I have used Cygolite products for many years because of their brightness and battery life. I gave this Cygolite a 4-star based solely on the (lack of) clear direction on selecting specific light patterns. I wanted flashing. The first flashing choice drained the battery in 2 hours. To access other flashing modes you must: 1) select the top level flashing mode by short clicks of the on-off button; 2) turn off the light by holding the on-off button for several seconds; 3) turn on the light directly to the flashing mode by holding the on-off button for several seconds; 4) press the on-off button to access different flashing modes; and, 5) save this flashing mode when done by holding the on-off button for several seconds. Be sure to hold the on-off button for several seconds when re-starting to go directly to the flashing mode you previously selected.

Good bright light
This is a strong good bright light that I use when I cycle 20-30 miles 5:30 in the morning which is 1 1/2 hour to 2 1/2 hours of time I need it to be fully on in bright mode. It does need to be recharged every day to stay 100%

Not perfect for aero bars
I ordered this because of the silicon strap which is designed to adjust for aero bars. However, the base the light sits on is rigid and designed for round section bars. The result is doesn't fit flush to the flat top of the aero bars. It would be improved if the base was also of flexible silicon. I only ride in the daytime and I'm happy with the brightness and battery life in triple flash mode.

Very bright and easy to use
I love it! It is plenty bright enough for me at night even on the lowest setting. It goes on my handlebars really easily, and I can pop it off to take it with me quickly. I even used it as a flashlight during voting at the polls last week when the outside area was poorly-lit. I found the instructions clear on charging and switching between the various modes as well as turning it off. Appears nicely-made and sturdy. Plus the price was good. I’m very pleased I chose this model.

Powerful compact light for rides!
It's advertised as 250 lumens and it really shines bright! Easy mounting system and love the fact that it's rechargeable through USB. I used it for over an hour on the brightest setting on my ride and it shows the road clear throughout the night. No issues with it so far and would recommend!

This light failed to recharge within two months from purchase. Other than that it was ok.
Really nothing to add. I hope I just got a lemon and if you get one it lasts longer. I can say that I have had better luck with other lights from this manufacturer.

Buena durabilidad de alumbramiento.
