Size

I make my dog's food in the crockpot, so I needed a larger one to accommodate the recipes. That's why I got the 8 quart. I do think this crockpot tends to run too hot on high, so I probably will go the longer route and cook on low. That's the only drawback I can see. Otherwise I am very happy with it.

The large crock pot is perfect. Works great. The small one not so much. The lid is plastic and there is no way to change the temperature setting. It’s on if it’s plugged in and it’s full blast. Tried making queso and it burned.

Bought for work.

I work in a bakery and needed a new crock pot for melting chocolate to dip strawberries in. It runs a little hot for melting chocolate. The warmer is adorable but also runs too hot for chocolate. But works great as far as crackpots go!

Do they make normal temp slow cookers anymore

It’s a great unit for the price. But my last two have been crockpot brand and low seems to boil stuff. It’s insanely hot on the low setting. I thought perhaps it was the digital setting on my previous one so I bought manual. Left a ham unattended for just a bit if time and it nearly burnt on low.

Nothing wrong, I think.

I haven't seen anything wrong with it and it seems like it works properly. My first time using a slow cooker or crock pot, so Ihavenothingtocompare it to. My assessment is based on using it half a dozen times so far.
