Right Where You Need It.

When you're building, or repairing something, and you need your sockets/ratchets, but they're all in your garage, shop, or wherever it is that you keep them, what do you do?? Well, you do what everyone does, in that situation, you stop, go and get the ratchet/sockets you need, then return to what you're working on. Oops. You didn't get the right size socket/sockets, and the back and forth begins. We've all done it, and it will probably happen again, but what if it doesn't have to happen again?? With this Craftsman tool set, you can eliminate the back and forth, retrieving the correct size sockets/ratchet, from ever happening again. You can bring every ratchet/sockets you might need, to whatever you're working on. It's all there, and it's all organized, so it's easy to find the size you're looking for, eliminating that back and forth situation. This set also comes with a full set of hex keys, and common sized boxed/open end wrenches, in SAE and metric. The drawered box is made of a sturdy polypropylene plastic, which makes it lighter than most metal tool boxes. Every piece has a fitted slot, which keeps everything from rolling around inside the drawers, and the ratchet/sockets are organized by 1/4, 3/8, and 1/2 inch sizes, from top to bottom. The box has a single locking mechanism, that you can engage/disengage, to lock the drawers in the closed position, so the drawers won't open when you're transporting the box. This box is also compatible with the Craftsman VersaStack, and the DeWalt TSTAK systems, so you can add, or remove this box from your stack, but you shouldn't have to. Each drawer, in this box, has release tabs, on each side of the drawer, so you can remove the drawer you need, without taking the box, or the stack with you. In conclusion, this is a great tool box, for taking ratchets/sockets, hex keys, and common sized boxed, open end wrenches with you. It's reasonably light, organized, sturdy, stackable with two different systems, and it's Craftsman, so the tools have the lifetime guarantee. It's the same guarantee that Craftsman has always had, even when they were owned by Sears. If any of the tools, in this set, break, the company will replace them. The box itself doesn't have that lifetime guarantee, but I have had VersaStack/TSTAK boxes break, or fail, and Stanley Black and Decker, which owns both companies, sent me new ones. I only had to send them pictures of the breakage/failure, and they replaced them, at no charge to me. I'm sure this is a case by case service, so it probably depends on the situation, but that's been my experience, on two separate occasions. That's why I continue to buy their products, and that's another reason why I recommend buying this item.

I like these for home use.

It wouldn't be usable if you work in a garage, of course. But it's a nice kit and has most of the stuff I need for home use.

A Little Disappointed.

A little disappointed. Not in the tools themselves but in the toolbox. Yes, I know it's not supposed to be real durable but, when you're paying just shy of $200 for something, I'd expect it not to arrive at my house damaged. A piece of the top drawer was broken off when I unboxed and two of the socket posts were broken. As far as the tools go, they seem really durable and I'm excited to start using Craftsman tools again. I just wish I had a box that was not broken in 4 different areas. That's a lot of money these days for a lot of people for a really overpriced set of tools. Do better Craftsman, please.

Great tools but Quality control is lacking

The first set I ordered, the quarter inch ratchet was defective. It did not ratchet in either direction just free spun. I returned for a replacement. I went through the next one more thoroughly and as you can see in the picture The 15 and 17 mm deep sockets were replaced with standard 9/16 and 1/2 sockets. I’m debating whether to return this one again. I also ordered another set and I’m waiting for it. I usually get a new craftsman set for each vehicle and sometimes I give them away as gifts. I’ve always loved them. I expect defects on occasion and replacement is always easy. However two sets in a row with a broken part and missing sockets on the next one is not good quality control. I rated it one star less because overall the sets are still great and the new case design is excellent. This set is probably the best design for the storage that they’ve come out with yet. All of the other previous cases are blow mold plastic and waste lots of space. This one, everything sits on extended plastic rails and leaves all the rest of the space open to use as a toolbox should. I also like that the majority of the sockets and such are raised up just off the bottom of the tray so that any moisture the case might collect won’t rust out your tools which happens if you tend to store them in a vehicle. I always wait to the sets go on sale and this one was $119 on sale. Well worth the money and a lifetime warranty. Top quality tools, easy replacement, and one of the best price points out there.

Superb quality and range tool kit

I got this as I needed imperial / metric sockets and tools in a portable case to work on old tractors. A great range of sockets included up to bigger sizes and without skips as in most sets. Also the quality is excellent, made in Taiwan which is a big step up from the usual made in China sets available. This case also fits exactly with the DeWalt Tstak system. Although is a well laid out case i would not trust the drawers to take much abuse.

Lo encargue como regalo del día del padre desde Estados Unidos para ser enviado a mi papá hasta Guadalajara. Amazon se encargo de cobrarme por la importación ya que va desde Estados Unidos. Alta calidad de autocle, gran acabado y cero defectos

Compre el producto a un excelente precio, el cual no compraría de otra manera, ya qué hay gente y negocios que se aprovechan del precio. El producto está hecho en Taiwán, pero es parte de la globalización, es de excelente calidad, es craftsman. Mi tío tiene un autocle craftsman completo de los 70’s, hecho en Estados Unidos, al hacer la comparación este no le pide nada. Este está cromado a diferencia del viejo, y el espesor de las matracas donde se pone el dado es más grueso en el de los 70’s, pero esto debe ser por la mejora en el campo de las aleaciones. Esté autocle es un producto craftsman de calidad, que respeta los mismos estándares de calidad sin importara donde fue manufacturado. Gracias al vendedor por el precio y por facilitar estén gran producto. Todos deberían comprarle el autocle craftsman a estén vendedor.

I don't understand why save on your own VERSASTACK system

I am a fan of the brand. The tools are excellent, but the box does not meet the objective. 1. the tabs that grip the VERSASTACK system are made of cheap plastic and the box is very heavy, they damage very quickly, they should be metal. 2. The box It has no end stop and the plastic feels very thin, you will always end up with the tray in hand. Where do I have to go to buy the tabs for my VERSASTACK system or where do I ask for the guarantee, I do not arrive with one and the other is about to be damaged.
