Requires A Special Cable To Charge! "Product Support" is Warranty Replacement.
Coast does not provide any warranty on the provided battery in the flashlight, at all! The first thing I did upon receiving this flashlight was to verify its initial charge level using the battery life indicator ("green"). Then I started charging the battery using the USB-C port at the rear (by unscrewing the rear cap a small amount). There is a charge level indicator LED which is supposed to "glow red" while charging, and "glow green" when fully charged. The first thing I noticed is that the indicator LED does not light at all unless a USB-C charger supporting Power Delivery is used (I tested with 6 different chargers, all if which work well with modern cell phones). The next thing I noticed is that when connected to a charger with Power Delivery, the LED flashes red rather than "glowing red". A whole day later the charging indicator LED continued blinking red even though attached to the latest technology 45W charger using a qualified 60W USB-C cable! It appears that energy was still being delivered given that the charger was somewhat warm. Given the total lack of warranty on the proprietary battery (which costs 2/3rds the Amazon cost of the flashlight cost to replace), this left me deeply concerned. The vendor provides no product support other than for warranty returns. Through trial and error I have learned that one MUST use the provided USB splitter cable to charge the flashlight. I had assumed the cable is just "value add". By using the provided USB splitter cable to charge the flashlight with a 45W charger supporting Power Delivery, the red light "glows" as documented and after the battery charges, the green light "glows" as documented. This reliance on a special cable is very annoying (and concerning) give that all of my other devices will charge with any USB-C charger available, and without any special cable. This means that one must bring along the magic cable on any trip. However, the apparent quality of the product is excellent. The slide focus feature works as expected in order to produce the desired beam although it is not capable of producing a very bright spot. The anodized aluminum body seems to be of the highest quality. An O-ring protects the USB-C charge port, which is very good. I am still deciding if I should return this flashlight to Amazon.

best flashlight currently on the market, PERIOD!! Do not even doubt this company for you'd be a fool. I have a sick fetish for flashlights (and for which I should probably seek professional help), but no brand can come close to this brand in terms of reliability, lumens, accuracy, customer service, so and and so forth

Very well built, LOVE the adjustable beam.
A great light. Very well built, perfect replacement for the old D cell Mag Light that everyone used to carry in their car. MUCH brighter than those of course. The adjustable beam is great, it gives a ridiculous gigantic flood on one setting, then you slide it out to focus the beam for longer distance. The "longer distance" is not nearly as long distance focused as my old 550 Coast adjustable beam flashlight. The battery can be used as a power bank to charge your phone in an emergency. My only real complaint is that the long distance focus needs to go further out to focus the beam more. It stops too early. It also IS bright, but I do wish it was just a little brighter (but isn't that always the case? LOL!). Coast honored a lifetime warranty on a flashlight I had owned since the dawn of time and had beat to death. I didnt even know it had a lifetime warranty. I called them to ask if they still sold that old model that I wanted to buy one to replace mine that had finally died. That is when they told me they would send one for free. BOOM. They deserve my loyalty and I hope you will consider their customer service to me when you are buying flashlights.

Durability
Great flashlight! Long story short. We were under a tornado warning when we had to take shelter in my landlords shop, we had to run across our front yard in the pouring rain. The flashlight ended up falling out of my pocket and stayed in the pouring rain until I could go retrieve it probably about 20-30 minutes later. I was worried that it would possibly not work since it was steadily getting rained on, but nope. Flashlight works great up to this day!! Great flashlight for the price ????

Was excited to get this flashlight as a birthday gift only to open it and find it covered in a micro dust. The power cord was clearly unraveled and used then put back sloppy. The light works fine and everything was in the box. Pretty expensive light to receive one used. I purchased new, so I was expecting new. Passing off used items as new shouldn’t be allowed. You should have to be honest and sell them as refurbished at least. Shame on you. How long has it been used? Was it used properly? What was this micro dust it was covered in?
