I've been waiting weeks for this watch, but...

This is the largest of the "small" simple retro-styled Casio digital watches. After having tried theF-91W, the 168 and the 217, I finally broke down and bought this model, which fits my large-ish wrist better than the others. I like how it looks and how it wears on my wrist. All of these little watches are total value for the money. They come with the Casio look and quality that has made them a household name and a leader in the quartz watch market. I love them all. Sadly though, I received a used watch. It arrived without the signature plastic on the dial and the plastic bag over the watch. It's also missing the manual and Casio's warranty card. There are no blemishes or scuffs though, so I'm going to keep the watch and knock off one star for taking away my joy at opening a new watch.

Great value watch

Charming little watch. Still wears pretty small on 6.5 inch wrist despite being one of the larger ones in this family of Casio models. Bracelet is fairly cheap and can pull hair, but I have found that when sized correctly (easy with the slide clasp) I didn't notice any pulling when wearing for an entire day.

Casio watch

Absolutely love this watch!! I appreciate it’s not very strong when it comes to the paint on the top of the resin case but I’m not bothered in the slightest it’s awesome this watch I like it that much I bought 2 more!! Lol I wear one that’s getting scratched an battered in work an one for home an a spare ! I’ve been a fan of casio for years but what swayed me towards this watch was it’s far bigger display an stands out completely against most classic Casio watches with the flush looking metal strap ! For £35 /$40 you literally can’t go wrong with this !

Great watch

Easy to read, easy to operate, classic style. Very easy to turn hour beeps and alarm on and off, set the time, switch between AM/PM and 24H format. I really like the style of this watch, and it fits me well. I have larger wrists (~7.75") and there's still room to adjust on the bracelet. The bracelet has not been overly grabby on my arm hair. I'm giving it 5 stars, but here are some points of criticism: The backlight is from one side only, but it works well enough - the display flips to a negative display when you push the light button, so the digits light up orange rather than the background. It only lights up when the button is pressed, doesn't stay lit with any delay when you let go. Fairly effective, better than some earlier Casio lights, but Timex Indiglo is still the winner in this department. The alarm is a single setting only - no multiple alarms, no days of the week schedule. You set an alarm time and it's either on or off. Only the bracelet is metal, the casing is silver resin. It blends well enough, just don't expect all metal. To me, these criticisms are not real deterrents given the price of this watch, just things to be aware of.

It's OK but not heavy duty

I like this watch but it only lasted about 1 year for me - including active outdoor use. The chrome finish wore off exposing the plastic underneath after a few months. After about a year one of the lugs that the band mounts to broke off the case. I think the metal band puts more stress on the case than a rubber band. I think this watch is best suited for gentle or occasional use.

Great look, annoying band.

This is a great retro look at the backlight works better than anticipated. As suggested by others, the watch itself is a metalized plastic, except the backplate. The annoying aspect is the band. I'm used to a butterfly clasp which allows you to put on and take off the watch quickly. With this band, however, the clasp disconnects completely. This means that in order to put on the watch, it's often easiest to lay it down on a surface, put your hand on the band, rap the band around your wrist, then clasp shut. It feels relatively secure once on, but it's still an annoyance. The watch also doesn't come with instructions on how to adjust the band, but it's not impossible to figure out. Put a small screwdriver in the clasp where indicated by the arrow and pry up. Adjust to taste, then clamp down. You cannot easily remove the surplus links, so it overlaps on your wrist. For the price, these shortfalls are acceptable, but I would gladly pay a few more bucks for a better band design.

This watch is silver and human wrist sized.

This watch is a simple, pragmatic design. Fairly basic feature set, for those who want a basic timepiece. The wrist band is quite comfortable and its size can be adjusted using a small prying tool such as a flathead screwdriver. The illuminator function is very interesting! The light itself is amber; when activated, the screen's power reverses polarity and shows a negative display - white numbers on a black background. This is a very clever feature which allows for a clear display even though the blacklight is relatively dim. Overall, this is a smart looking, simple watch for those who want to see the time and date, but not a lot of other features. Well worth its price!
