I hoped this would stop the leaking.

Yes it is an OEM gas cap. I have a lawn used mower that this fits and my original gas cap leaks via a sloppy fit (old o-ring or so I thought) and leaks. I bought a knockoff of this hoping it would work, it didn't. So I returned them and ordered this one. Turns out that this one was no better, still leaks. Do they do so by design? So I took my old o-ring off my old cap and added it to this one (now I have 2 o-rings on the new cap) and at least the leak has stopped now.

DOSE NOT FIT predator 212, Tilotson 212 OR ANY HONDA CLONES

It will NOT fit predator 212 or my Tillotson 212. But it shipped well and fast, and they did package it well, and is a high-quality oil cap for Briggs & Stratton.

It did the job.

Used this to replace a leaking combo fill spout/level checker on an old engine being repurposed. The place the spout fit had a leaking rubber gasket/bushing. Removed the bushing and the block is threaded for one of these caps.

Edit 11/22/2022: Changed from 5-stars to 1-star.... I bought this cap 2/26/2020 and only recently have I been able to try out this new cap with an 'almost' full tank of gas: **It leaks just as bad as the original cap I replaced**. The engine vibration causes turbulence in the fuel which causes the fuel to go up and out of the cap if the tank is too full (i.e. over 1/2 full). Note: this is with the splitter/engine completely level. I'm sure it would be worse if it were not level. It appears this cap works just like my car (Honda) gas cap where it doesn't let you tighten it fully: starts "Clicking" and slipping when you get to a particular tightness. I'm wondering if this (lack of tightness) has something to do with it. Anyway, not sure what to do now- this is the only cap that was recommended by Brigg&Stratton for this engine. I'm past the "return window" I'm sure. Any Suggestions? Thanks! Previous 2/25/2022 review: Briggs & Stratton 799719 Fuel Tank Cap: I bought this awhile ago (1-2years?) and installed it on my wood-splitter (briggs&stratton engine) gas tank. The old cap was leaking. I didn't get a chance to really test it for awhile that's why this is late. It works great! No leaking.

Great fuel cap for a Briggs and Stratton/vanguard

The media could not be loaded. Great fuel tank cap. Only thing is I had to remove the strainer that sat inside the filler neck in order to use the tether. I don't run dirty fuel so it's not that big of a deal for me. It's a nice sturdy cap that clicks when it's tight. It seals well and I have had minimal moisture in my tank. If for some reason the tether broke or I somehow lost the cap I would definitely buy this 1 again

Works itself loose during mowing

Bought this to replace a previous cap where the tether broke. The old cap was a better fit as this new one works itself loose during mowing. It just about does the job but no more.

The design has changed but the suppliers sorted the problem

I recently bought this replacement fuel cap on Amazon but the suppliers were in fact autoculture.co.uk. The cap didn’t really fit properly, so I called autoculture, who were superbly helpful. Thanks to them, I ended up with a new petrol tank, at Briggs and Stratton’s cost, because their new cap (a replacement design) doesn’t fit their old tank properly.

Disappointed...

Bought this as other reviews for the lower cost units claimed they did not fit tight. Got this for my push mower and although it fit, it is loose and will fall off. I will have to get a rubber gasket to try to make it fit better so it doesn't come off. Very disappointed.

Tankdeckel für Rasenmäher

Die Qualität ist mäßig, der Verschluß ist schlecht, hält nicht, durch die Rotation des Motors löst sich der Verschluß beim mähen. Mein Urteil: Nicht gut.
