Perfect for Making Boards Useable
I purchased this bit-set to do just one thing - make remaining pieces of flooring, that had been cut from a longer board, useable again. Since the remaining cut no longer has the tongue or groove on the side that allows it to be installed with another run of flooring, that piece becomes useless scrap - unless you recut the needed tongue or groove. Even though this can be done with a table saw, that would take multiple cuts and more time. The one hassle is that the bit height has to be adjusted very precisely on the router table - which is time consuming when going between the tongue and groove heights, so I just used this bit to cut the tongue and left it at that setting for the entire job. I cut the groove using my table saw. Two important pieces of information when doing this: 1) Make sure that you rout TWO pieces of flooring together, the piece you want to use, abutted to a piece of scrap flooring "inserted" into the rear of the "good" board whose tongue you are cutting; because, the router will splinter the trailing edge of the last floor piece - which you don't want to be the piece you intend to use. In this way, the rear, scrap piece, takes the damage. 2) And (even though it has nothing to do with this bit- but is important additional step) - if you are installing flooring that is beveled, you will have to use a chop or table saw (set at a 30 degree angle) to cut the tiny bevel missing from the cut piece so that it matches the rest of the flooring. But the bottom line is that, with this bit, I was able to quickly cut a LOT of (what would have become scrap), pieces of IPE (an unbelievably hard Brazilian Walnut) flooring quickly and with ease - the bit remained sharp throughout the entire job - thereby reducing my flooring waste to almost nothing.

Budget Option for Shaker Doors
I was able to make a pair of shaker doors out of poplar relatively easily with this bit. You definitely have to pay attention to the location of the spacers supplied - as the bit came, the tongue was much too thin, and I had to move the small brass spacer washers around to get a tight fitting joint. Like any panel set, make some test cuts to align everything well. Counterintuitively, I got a better cut running the wood through the bit reasonably fast. If I slowed down the feedrate too much it burned the wood a little (no issue, as this part will be hidden with glue). I had no problem with the fact that the bit has a 1/4" shank as well. I cut the tongue in 3 passes and the groove in 2. Unike other reviews, tearout wasn't a significant problem providing you run a pusher board along with the wood to catch the bit as it comes out of the piece. Even without a pusher board it had very little tearout, although I have only used it with poplar. You do have to clean up the outside edges on a 3/4" thick board when cutting the tongue, but this is relatively common and expected with a tongue and groove bit. A quick 220 grit sanding cleaned up the edge nicely. Definitely not as nice as the "red" panel bit sets, but at less than half the price it is a good budget option. Would buy again.

Very Nice
As another reviewer had mentioned, I needed this bit to make scrap pieces of hardwood flooring usable again to save on waste. Believe it or not, we made a table to mount the new Bosch Colt handheld router I have and I used it to run this big bit. The bit is so sharp and the Bosch Colt so powerful (for it's size) that all cuts were near perfect. The little router never even hinted at being worked too hard and I wasn't going slow. I couldn't be more pleased with the performance. The only negative thing I could say is that the bit came in a cardboard box that was folded shut like it had been previously returned and never repackaged properly. There was no case and no padding, just the bit rolling around the box. The only thing that saved it was it had been dipped in some kind of rubbery wax material that took about 10 minutes to peel off the bit. Since it was undamaged and works great, I give it 5 stars

Bosch make good tools, so when I get around to the ...
Whoa! I haven't used it yet! but, Bosch make good tools, so when I get around to the T&G ing (on a couple of doors I am going to make), I'm sure I can figure it out. It was a bit surprising that it didn't come with any instructions...but I watched a couple of YouTube videos and feel brave enough to try it out. Merit (AZ's husband)

Hmmm.... Just say no.
So its a great bit and has the ability to do so much but a 1/4" shank is to small for a bit of this caliper. Realistically, you need a 1/2 router and bit combination to make a finish product that looks good. I don't blame Bosch, they made a bit people wanted but some things are not made or sold for a reason.... this is a prime example of such situations. I suggest passing on any 3 wing bit unless you have a 1/2" shank setup.

doesn't work on bluehawk table
this is a great bit but the shank is too short to work on mt bluehawk router table making it useless to me

Not enough included spacers
Agree with other reviewers over multiple years (especially check the Bosch webiste) - it's mystifying that Bosch would sell this bit without enough spacers to make the groove cutting bit work. Otherwise, it's hard to control the depth of the cut with this bit. Everything else is decent enough quality. I appreciate the 1/4" shank, since most of these bits require a 1/2" fitting.

Fantastic fitting joint
This is a great bit for the price. Produces a very good fitting joint. My one reservations is that I wish it had a 1/2" shank for a little bit better stability. Rick

Affordable, but not fantastic at putting a tongue on 3/4" stock
This affordable bit is great...if your stock is slightly less than 3/4". Thats because this little bit is EXACTLY 3/4 inch thick, and even with three feather boards in place slight deviations in the stock resulted in fine strips of wood being left on the boards face when making the tongue. I had two options, plane 120 boards to 11/16, or as I chose, take the slivers off quickly with a block plane. Both time-wasting tasks.. It groves great, and the resulting joints fits easily and snugly. For the amount of time I wastedI'd buy another bit for more money.

3/4 « faible ». Comme je l’ai sur un autre commentaire, c’est parfait si votre planche à une épaisseur très légèrement inférieure à 3/4 de pouce.
