Pain-in-the-neck saucer design (!) but otherwise nice pots.
I purchased a pair of these in matte black for my front steps. What I Like: At $7.59 each, they were a good value. They look great. The matte black does not look like plastic. I don’t have to worry about bringing them in during winter, because they wont freeze and break like my old ceramic pots will. And when I drop these they won’t break, like just happened with one of my ceramic pots. There are two things I don’t like: The way the saucer attaches to the pot, and dirty fingerprints. The way the saucer and pot fit together is a pain in the neck. I read all the reviews and nothing (or any of those recommendations) works well. The bottom of the pots have 6 drainage holes (good). The saucer has 3 raised tabs (that look like about 1” of the end of a #2 pencil) that stick up into the pot to keep the saucer attached to the pot. The first problem is that with the saucer attached the way it arrives, the saucer is so snug against the pot, that the water won’t drain through those holes. You can easily pull the saucer off the pot. However, you can’t then position the saucer “just right” so that there is room for the water to drain through those holes. Some reviewers said that you could press the saucer tabs into the pot holes just a little way, in order to keep some distance between the pot and the saucer for drainage. They said that there are little rings or grooves on the tabs, so that you can choose the amount of space for drainage. Not true with my pot/saucer. There are no little rings or grooves on those tabs. Once I stick the tabs up (even a tiny amount) into the drainage hole, the weight of the pot filled with soil and the plant presses the pot down onto the saucer and the tabs go up through the drainage hole, and then we are right back to where there is not enough space for the water to drain through. Some reviewers said that you should position the pot so that it sits ON TOP of those saucer tabs and they don’t go into the drainage holes at all. However, I found that to be very awkward to position the pot like that. It seems pretty “teetery” resting on top of those 3 tabs. And then if I knock it just a bit, one of the tabs slips into a drainage hole and then the pot does not sit evenly on the saucer. This was a pain in the neck. I finally just got them looking like they were sitting on the saucers sort of level, and left them alone. I realize this is a lot of words about the stupid drainage holes and saucer. The second thing I didn’t like was that when I finished planting my plant into the pot and I lifted it to put it in place on my porch (and with all the fiddling with the stupid saucer), the matte black picked up all the soil off my hands and the pots were full of my hand prints. It’s a small thing. I just got a wet paper towel and wiped all that off. I figure I won’t be carrying these around now that the plants are in them, so no big deal. But the matte finish really does pick up the dirt. Overall, these are small things, and I like the pots a lot. They are a good value and they look very nice. I do recommend them. Just be warned about the stupid design of the saucers. If my review was helpful, please let Amazon know by clicking “helpful”. Thanks.

Water basin low volume
Nice lite plastic pot the built in water catchment holds very little over flow so if you plant allows much water to pass it will pour out of bottom reservoir.
