Unfortunately, Not As Good As It Looks

The the propeller needs a little 'encouragement' every third or fourth go. This places it in the $7 to $9 price range.

Fun bath toy.

I was told this little monkey in a submarine toy was my 2 yr old granddaughters favorite birthday toy! Loves it in the bath tub.

Broke on 2nd use.

Disappointed the pull string came off the outer ring on the second use. Very disappointed since I like the Skip Hop brand very much.

Fun toy, but gets moldy

This is a really fun, whimsical bath toy. The monkey isn't especially fast and traverses almost the length of a traditional tub on 1 string pull. The dome of the submarine gets cloudy from moisture and the nooks and crannies collect mold. It is not easy to clean, but if you're okay with spending some time to really scrub or replace in a few months, it's quite fun for the kiddos.

Very cute but…

The plastic pull came off within a few uses so it was a little difficult to re-thread it but with the use of a smal paper clip and small fingers, I finally got it. The wind up part of the toy is super super loud and goes in very quick so when my 15 month old is in the bath and wants to play with it, it’s getting handed to me every five seconds to pull the string. My baby does like it, I just don’t love it.

Quality, Sturdy, Colorful Bath Toy!

My toddler grandson loves this bath toy. It is bigger than I anticipated (a plus) and very sturdy.

Super fun and easy for toddlers to use

With the string it makes it so much easier for toddlers to wind it than the twist propelled bath toys. I am still trying to figure out the best way to clean it, as it cannot go in the dishwasher. The pull string is holding up great, as I have an aggressive toddler

The little submarine that does!

Pool toys can often become "one-hit wonders" with easily distracted and short-term interested children. This very well-made toy is constructed with durable plastic and some smart design features. Most importantly, it works! Often times the buyer is "stuck" with string-pulled toys that begins its pool life spinning its propeller for a short while, then the shaft rusts out or the propeller chips/breaks from child's play. THIS ONE floats above those pikers, its clear bubble hatch intact, the smooth prop spinning away and the string pull steadfast and attached to its robust ring. While the cost might seem a little above average, this little sub may spend this winter- not in dry dock- but instead patrolling the waters of the bathtub until next summer's commute to the ongoing adventures of the outdoor pool for Season Two. Moldy Monkey

Like most bath toys they are fun and great on the beginning but mold will find places to lurk and hide and unfortunately our little monkey friend is no exception. He last no longer than the regular bath squirt toys before showing signs of mold.

Probably best for older toddlers

My son is 14 months and has never shown any interest in this toy. I thought even though he wouldn't;t pull the string that he would still enjoy seeing it move in the water. But he could care less. It sits pretty low in the water, so if you use bubble bath, you can't really see it too much. Maybe he will like it when he's older.

Padrísimo para mi hijo obsesionado con las propelas

Mi hijo lo amó. Es un juguete que no puede faltarle a la.hora del baño o cuando vamos a la alberca. Llevamos más de dos años con el juguete y sigue funcionando bien. Pensé que la burbuja donde está metido el monito podría romperse, pero se ha caído muchísimas veces y no se ha dañado. El mecanismo está diseñado para que la propela gire y avance en el agua, y amo hijo le fascina ver cómo gira porque le interesan mucho los ventiladores, aspas y propelas. Creo que es una forma excelente y didáctica de aprender sobre la resistencia del agua.

Broke before I even took the packaging apart.

The media could not be loaded. I literally pulled the string once I opened amazons packaging and it broke. It says “try me” so I pull the string and the propeller spun for about 3 seconds before the string shot back into the toy. Now when I pull the string it just shoots back into the toy and does not spin the propeller.
