Non-existent eye relief

I literally have to shove this thing into my eyeball in order to see through it. It's almost impossible to use with glasses. It does 'work' though in that it shows you a magnified image, and the rangefinder is accurate. It lined up with a doorway 50 yards away. Fyi most doorways are also about the same height as a gold flag pole (7ft).

Nice Inexpensive Spotting Scope

Let me start off by saying I don't golf...I hike, backpack, kayak, and canoe. I purchased this as an inexpensive, small, lightweight alternative to my waterproof binoculars. The field of view is not great, but adequate for what I need and seems fine when I use it to view the nearest golf hole. For my use, the range estimating reticle is nice since I can estimate range by rationing the height of the known object (a person for instance) to the reticle scale (which is set up for a golf flag height). Comes with a decent carrying case, hand grips are good, rubber end is comfortable around your eye and keeps out ambient light. It is durable enough to survive many drops on grass, but likely the internal optics won't survive multiple hard drops on concrete or rocks. My apologies to the golfers who are looking for a review of how well it works to improve your golf game.

Good to watch golf game

If you are on the course watching someone else golf game/tournament. It is good and inexpensive scope for that. Fits into a pocket, you can estimate a distance. I am not sure that is accurate enough for a golf player.

This spotting scope cannot adjust focus !

This spotting scope cannot adjust focus! It is not about one object; it is a design flaw for the whole series. Hard to believe that an object intended for adults (i.e., not a toy) cannot adjust focus. With this spotting scope, it will be only one distance with perfect image clarity, and that will be different for each person. To explain: Someone with good eyesight and no need for glasses, has the perfect clarity at distance A. I am using +1.75 eyeglasses for distance, so for me, the perfect clarity will be at distance B. Someone with +0.75 eyeglasses for distance will have the perfect clarity at distance C. Now, the good part: Amazon refunded me. My thumb up for Amazon, my thumb down for very bad Barska product !

8X monocular - and 200 yard/meter combined ranger

As a yardage estimate device, it's a 2 star; the grid pattern is supposed to list "50, 70, 90, 125, 175, 250) on the left of the lens and "60, 80, 100, 150, 200, 300" on the right - so that you can line up the flag height to appropriate range height to estimate range with more accuracy. Simple concept that they fail in - Mine simply lists "50, 75, 100, 150, 200" on BOTH sides, one side yardage and the other in meters. That said, as an 8X magnified monocular, it's a decent product for cheap! Optics are clear, had no problem with fogging, tiny, easy to keep in the treestand with me for those times when you need a little oomph to identify a buck vs. doe, etc. No replacement for good binoculars, just easy to keep with you. So for an 8X miniature monocular, ok product - as a range estimater - not so great.

Accurate range to the Flag Pole

I used this product before GPS rangefinders were introduced to golfers. I keep this product in my golf bag in case my GPS rangefinders battery dies.

Difficult to read over longish distance due to "shake" not necessarily the fault of the instrument but for me it is a problem. I will persevere with it until I can afford a GPS range finder.

8 foot flag?

Good quality, but!! How many courses have 8 ft flags?? Sorry but my days of multiplying by 9 dividing by 5 and adding 32 are over and done with. I dont want to be on course working out the difference between 5ft and 8ft.
