Verstellbare Hebel aus Nylon-Kunststoff mit Edelstahlkomponenten. Die in den USA patentierten und hergestellten verstellbaren Handhebel WN 300 mit Edelstahlkomponenten sind das Ergebnis modernen Industriedesigns: Glasfaserverstärkter Thermoplast mit eingegossenem Metalleinsatz. Alle diese Hebel bewähren sich überall dort, wo Teile auf engstem Raum oder in einer bestimmten Hebelposition gespannt werden müssen. Der Einsatz ist über leicht lösbare Verzahnungen mit dem Hebel verbunden. Durch Ziehen des Hebels nach oben wird die Verzahnung gelöst und der Spanner lässt sich in die ideale Spannposition schwenken. Beim Loslassen des Hebels rasten die Verzahnungen automatisch wieder ein. Maximale Hitzebeständigkeit von Nylon-Kunststoff: 150 °C (230 °F). Schraube für Druckknopf: Edelstahl, europäische Norm 1.4305. Orangefarbener Nylon-Thermoplast. Schwarzer, glatter Nylon-Kunststoff-Druckknopf.

It's a low security lock - Ideal LOTO lock

Light weight, big keys are easy to use. Makes a great LOTO lock or locker lock. Not real high security but acceptable for light duty.

You can't go wrong with American locks.

I use this lock at work on my locker. You can't beat the quality of these locks. I personally have never seen one of these fail to open with a key. We also use American lock for lock out tag out while working on our machines. No way anyone can pop these locks and power up the machine while we work on them while using these. All in all they are an awesome lock.

Seems secure

So, my son bought this lock to try to pick it. So far he hasn't succeeded. That seems like a good sign. It's heavy and the blue finish is attractive and looks like it will last and hold up well to elements.

They're exactly what I ordered just more expensive than they should have been

I like the fact that they were safety rated and they work for lockout tagout procedures where I work I would say the only con it is product is the cost

High security and quality for the price but read my review or you will be buying a second lock.

Only better pad-lock is gonna be the brand "BEST" but they mucho expensive. American makes the best bang for your buck in my opinion, HOWEVER!!!...most of their locks are too tall to fit traditional gym/school/whatever lockers sooooo, make sure you buy a lock with a shorter shackle!!! I cannot stress this enough--> 1.5" WILL NOT FIT. I suggest the 6 pin aluminum 1" shackle hight American padlock for lockers! P.S. I am a decent lock picker and I can get into 90% of the locks at my YMCA in under 15 seconds--> only BEST and American Lock give me trouble. (Honestly I have yet to pick a BEST lock but thats probably because I'm too cheap to purchase one to practice on :D Also the majority of home locks are a Joke to pick so maybe consider that as well--> BEST(or something comprable is what I would go for for my home security.

This would be a great lock if it were actually factory new

The real factory new American 1100 series locks have a special insert that prevents wrongdoers from bypassing the key. BUYER BEWARE: the units sold here (by Amazon) are missing that insert, so it's actually faster for someone to bypass the lock than to use the key. They might be old stock from before that exploit was discovered, or they may have been opened before being sold, and the opener forgot to place the insert back in when reassembling. Regardless, the lock is totally useless against a minimally knowledgeable wrongdoer with that insert missing.

Great for the price

Very nice lock, all security pins, ball bearing to prevent shimming, all around great. Make sure to add bypass restriction plates if your lock doesn't come equipped with them.
