Best wire connectors!
If you own a trailer you need these connectors.

One and done splices
I bought these for a low voltage landscape lighting installation. The main trunk line was #12/2 and the fixture wires were #16/2. I had no confidence in the supplied insulation piercing connectors attached to the end of the fixture pigtails [ from a home center starting with the letter L ] so I cut them off and used these. 3M has been making products like this for years for the telephone utility market, these are just bigger. The outer ports will accept up to #12 AWG wire, but if you're using low voltage landscape wire, you will need to open up the insert holes (grey cap on one end) to accept the larger insulation diameter. I used a center punch. The bottom side, which you can't see in this photo, is clear plastic so you can make sure the wires are fully inserted BEFORE you squeeze. Use a pair of Chanellocks to make sure the connector is fully closed. You will probably want to wear disposable gloves and have some paper towels nearby as the silicone gel filling will ooze out when you squeeze the connector. This gel is both an insulator and a water repellent. These connectors are rated for direct burial at voltage up to 150V.

Waterproof and easy to use
I tried 4 different connectors for landscape lights. What a nightmare the other ones were. These are FANTASTIC. Highly recommended. It almost makes adding connectors fun! They are worth every cent that they cost. TIP: The holes you push the wires through are VERY tight (which you WANT). What I did was cut the wires at an angle. It made it much easier to insert and the angled portion goes all the way to the end and isn't involved in the electrical connection that's made when crimping. I used 14 AWG stranded wire. I haven't tried 12 AWG wire yet.

One of few that work with 12 AWG cord
I am using these with landscape lighting's 12 AWG cord. Most is direct burial so these connectors work very well. They have three wire ports, 2 for the in/out of the 12 AWG and the third, 16 AWG, for the light being installed. Lots of gel to protect the connection and no wire prep is needed. Just cut the wire, insert into connector, and clamp the connector to make connection and snap the top and bottom parts together

Hack to make Wire insertion easier...
This Connector works very well once I figured out how to use it. I noticed that other users also had difficulty in inserting the wires into the connector. After struggling with the same issue on the first few wires, I sharpened each wire like a pencil with a utility knife and insertion was very easy. Yes, you need Channel Lock Pliers to Crimp it down all the way and make good connections. I also agree the Waterproof Gel does ooze out and make a mess. But, that is confirmation that you crimped the wires !

Really easy to use
takes a couple to get the hang of it, but really easy to use. My neighbor recommended these and I was happy with them.

Top shelf
Worked great on 14 gauge stranded and the thin wire from low voltage outdoor lights. Super secure connection. They are expensive but I'm glad I used these over other options.

The best product available for the job!
Best product available for landscape light wiring. Does the job right the first time. It will take effort to snap closed (I used a rubber mallet and small board - not enough strength in my hands to squeeze and the tool made especially for these is too $$$). Note that no stripping is required! Plan to waste a few trying getting the hang of it and double check before you close them - not really made for reuse.

Top 3M quality!
Worked great for fixing some underground low voltage landscape wire for my lights Update! So I've used a few more of these and figured out a little trick, most of the led landscape lights have super thin wires, (22g or so) had a couple of tough ones to actually make the splice / connection inside, so what I do now is strip the lights wires and weave / twist in an additional striped 16-18g wire (just the ends obviously). Then feed BOTH wires into the centre hole and once I get in I cut the sacrificial 18g wire so that it ends just inside the connectors rubber seal. Makes a solid connection and had ZERO problems with them since!

Better than marrettes
Once you figure these out, they are way better for outdoor use than marrettes and electrical tape. Be aware that you really have to stuff the wire into the end to get it into the connector -- better than it being loose! I was using larger gauge wire so I had to strip off the insulation to get it to fit.
